General Secretary’s MessageGreetings & Good Wishes!
Helen Keller truly noted, “Security is mostly a superstition. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing.” Never in my wildest
dreams, had I imagined of becoming the G-Sec for I had never been bestowed upon with a responsibility as huge as this one ever in my life. It was only in one of the casual hangout sessions when one of the seniors advised me to run for the post of G-Sec, that I thought of the upcoming elections.
That day turned out to be the steering point in my life. That spark ignited within saw me as the new G-Sec with an entirely new team constituted as the new Student Council. The new Council was determined to take up the new challenge as tasks that would follow would be huge. Extra but pleasant responsibilities, managing academics, leading, collaborating wasn't a cake walk, rather it required planning, preparation, execution and investment both in terms of time and energy. The process was an immense transformation packed with a lot of action along with few people who were always there to mentor us and help us sail through tough times with grace. These special people were a huge moral support throughout the journey.
My Team started off with the belief that every chosen leader has the responsibility to add value to the system they were a part of, with this in mind we initiated a few new things, like distribution of template sheets in packed sets, video challenges like the mannequin and stop motion in the cultural events, creating a social media handle for giving regular updates of all the activities happening at Allana. Reviving our membership at NASA was a major goal achieved. Our council term was a short tenure yet packed with a lot of movement.
It was a thrilling experience serving as the Gsec. Discovered new horizons, met new people, made new friends and in doing so became a better human being. I am glad to conclude by saying that it was one of the most beautiful phases of my life while I also use this opportunity to extend a heartfelt gratitude to each one of you who added to the memories by being a part of this exciting adventure.
Truly, “Opportunity dances with those on the dance floor.” I wish all the success to the Student Council 2017-18 -Uzair Asrar Momin
ACOA students council 2016-17
The logo of the Students’ Council 2016-17 is a simple geometric pattern with 6 hexagons forming a ring and 1 hexagon in
the centre there fore a total of 7 hexagons which represent 1 council member each. They’re all equal in position and therefore their equal importance in the council.
This particular shape and pattern was inspired from the honeycomb. Honey bee is an insect which though having as tiny existence as it, does not fail to contribute to the world by working hard and serving to species other than its own.

The Students’ Council
My experience as a treasurer has really been fascinating journey and a great learning experience. Volunteering for the post, I knew it will help me towards becoming a more responsible person and help me gain immense practical knowledge on various issues. As a treasurer I did face a lot challenges and also needed to maintain a balance between
Council work and Academic work. But overall it was a fun learning experience. And lastly I would like to thank all my teachers and fellow council members for their support throughout.

It was never a planned decision to stand for the post of magazine secretory in council elections. The whole credit for it goes to Uzair when he appeared suddenly in front of me with his proposal for council panel and I couldn't say no to him.
The experience of being part of this council was indeed enriching and hectic. It made us readier to get out of our academics and face the situations that appear in real world. When council members decide to do any kind of college project, immensely huge amount of planning goes in background under same amount pressure.
In all that chaos we realised that we can really do some substantial amount of work along with managing our own academic work. I must admit that I grew into so many dimensions through this experience that I am a very different personality now. You get to know how to talk with people, how to put forth and defend your ideas, how make the budget, how to plan and distribute the work and most importantly you learn to take risks and responsibilities. When you step out of your comfort zone to do something
great, you will be fulfilled with joy to know how efficient you are and how easily everything gets worked out well. You just have to take the initiative.-Hrushikesh
Being a Sports Secretary was an amazing experience for me . A sportsman myself I was really able to connect with the work I was doing and co-ordinating various sports events and activities was an extensive learning curve. Team spirit and sportsmanship were the essential elements I experienced and observed closely throughout my journey.
Challenging at times but accompanied by immense joy, I am really thankful for having this opportunity.-Izhar

Uniqueness, individuality of our previous council moulded us into fascinating beings.Experience with them made me delve into the deepest resources to cultivate an atmosphere of understanding, acceptance, tolerance and compassion.
They really made our year memorable.-Adnan
It was a wonderful experience and a great opportunity for me to be working in the student council. Though I was not able to be present in all the activities, but as much I was it felt amazing and fun to be working for the council. Uzair being a great leader was not only an amazing G. Sec but also an example for the upcoming council.
