Financial and working conditionsMC salary is not provide but for next term is planed to provide it depending on the budget and agreement within the MC members and MCP (with final word of MCP).

During the term 2012/13 so far each person has received 2 monthly salary of 100€ and internationals have accommodation and 50% of food covered by a grant. Higher salaries are planned for term 2013/14, however the incomes are not yet guaranteed by contracts.

If budget allows it all fees and travel costs are covered for events connected with MC work. For MCP ILMs are covered since their attendance is part of membership criteria.

Few points to consider:

Costs of living in Ljubljana are min. 300€ (accommodation included) and this term’s salary didn’t cover it so you should consider other kind of financial resources (family, grant...)

As MC you can attend few international events that will also need your personal investment (apart from travel costs and fees).

Costs for visa, insurance, public transport and other documents are not covered! However, AIESEC Slovenia has good experience with getting grants to support international MC members. We are EVS accredited which can fully support international MC members.

The term in AIESEC Slovenia officially starts on the 1st of August for MC and 1st of September for LCs, Transitions VP to VP starts right after selection.

MC 13.14 must be available and physically present in Ljubljana on the 1st of July until the 31st of July for Team to Team transition.

International CandidatesIn the last years AIESEC in Slovenia strongly values the internationalism in the MC team. We had several MCPs and MC members and we think that international members as well as AIESEC in Slovenia significantly benefited from it.

If you want to know more about experience of international MC in Slovenia, contact Lessya (MCP), Hiram (MC VP COMM), Iuliia (MCVP ICX) and Ursi (MC VP OGX) and we would also be happy to provide you contacts from previous MC(P)s.

No matter the nationality of candidates we expect dedication and active participation in transition before the start of the term.

We can ensure you this experience it’s going to be worthy and this is a turning point chance to make AIESEC Slovenia even better.

Feel SloveniaSlovenia is a small but beautiful and diverse country on the break between Central and EasternEurope. On a mere 20.000 km2 one can find everything: From seaside to ski resorts, caves and thermal waters, lakes and mountains.

Being in the middle of many cultures (namely Slavic, Latin and Germanic), Slovenia is not only geographically but also culturally diverse. From 42 dialects shared by 2 million people to 3 official languages, from Balkan temperament to Western seriousness, from tough Alpine life to relaxed Mediterranean people, and from all kind of different cuisines – you will see that Slovenia can be rediscovered every day!

Slovenia, officially the Republic of Slovenia, is a country in Central Europe touching the Alps and bordering the Mediterranean. Slovenia borders Italy on the west, the Adriatic Sea on the southwest, Croatia on the south and east, Hungary on the northeast, and Austria on the north. The capital and largest city of Slovenia is Ljubljana. From Ljubljana, you can reach all neighboring countries in 1,5- 2,5 hours!

Most of central and eastern Slovenia has continental climate with dry, hot summers and cold winters. On coast there is Mediterranean climate.

Among others, Slovenia is a member of the European Union, the Schengen area, NATO, UNESCO, WTO, OECD and UN. Per capita, it is the richest Slavic nation-state, and is 85.5% of the EU27 average GDP (PPP) per capita. Official currency is Euro. AIESEC Slovenia was established in 1991, but before that, AIESEC was present in Slovenia continuously since 1953: The three local committees (Ljubljana, Kranj, Maribor) were part of AIESEC Yugoslavia.

As a member of AIESEC Slovenia MC you will be living and working in the capital of Slovenia – Ljubljana, which is considered one of the best small cities to live in. As part of your work in MC you will be traveling to local committees, for which you will be financially supported.

ContactsFeel free to contact anyone on the Member Committee 12/13 for information and advice to assist in your application. For general questions and questions regarding the application process please contact Hiram.
