Along with Masood and Gurdial Singh, the then chief minister of Tripura, Sudhir Ranjan Majumdar and the then health minister of the state, Kashi Ram Reang were also among the accused but passed away the pending trial. If Masood gets a jail term of two years, he would be disqualified as to be a Rajya Sabha MP.
