You are requested to be present at least half an hour before the time stipulated on the date of counselling, to complete the formalities relating to admission.  In case you are unable to attend  the counselling you can depute a person authorized by you with all  the documents and demand draft to attend the counselling.

Please  note  that  you  or  person  authorized  by  you  have  to  exercise  your  option  for  the specialization and study centre. The option given at the time of admission is final and it cannot be changed later.   

Candidates will be called for counselling according to the rank secured in the Entrance Test.  Candidates have  to  choose a Study Centre  among  those available.    In  case a  candidate  is unable  to  attend  the designated  counselling  session  and  comes  at  a  later date he/she  can choose a Study Centre available at that time.   

If you authorize any person to attend the counselling on behalf of you, he will represent you on  the date  and  time  of  counselling.   The  authorized  person  is  expected  to  bring  all  the necessary documents and the authorization letter duly signed by you.(The signature of the authorized person should be attested by you in the authorization letter)

Degree  from  any University  in  Tamil Nadu)  or Demand  draft  for  Rs.19,050/‐  (for candidates  who  have  obtained  their  Undergraduate  Degree  from  any  University located outside Tamil Nadu) drawn in favour of “The Director, Centre for Distance Education, Anna University Chennai” payable at Chennai 

• 10th Mark sheet (original along with one photo copy) • 12th Mark sheet (original along with one photo copy) • Diploma Mark sheets (original along with one photo copy) (if applicable) • Mark sheets of all  the semesters of  the Undergraduate Degree Programme  (original along with one photo copy) 

• Provisional Certificates of Undergraduate (original along with one photo copy) • Degree Certificates of Undergraduate (original along with one photo copy) • Transfer Certificate and Conduct Certificate from the Institution last studied (original along with one photo copy) 

• One stamp size photo(for issue of ID Card)  

 

All  the  original  certificates  will  be  returned  immediately  after  verification  by  the admission authorities.

ANNEXURE 

(Enclosure to letter No.848/CDE/Admission Letter CY2013 Batch/2013 dated 21/03/2013)  

Attention to Candidates Seeking Admission  

1. Candidates  those who  are  obtained  degree without  studying  10th   &  +2  are  not  eligible  for  the admission of MBA,MCA & MSc‐IT(as proscribed in eligibility condition of application form) 

 

2. Candidates selected  for MBA Degree Programme are required  to choose  their specialization  from among the specializations offered by the Study Centre of their choice (details of the specializations available at the Study Centre concerned will be displayed at the Counselling Venue).  Study Centre and  specialization  availability  is  subject  to  the  condition  that  there  should  be  a minimum  of  5 students opting for that specialization at that Study Centre.  

3. In general,  requests  for  change of Study Centre will be  considered only based on valid  reasons with necessary documental proof.  Even in such cases, the request for change of Study Centre will be entertained only if that Study Centre offers the specialization of his/her choice.  

4. Contact classes will be conducted on 6 Saturdays and 6 Sundays spread over  the entire Semester.  Attendance  is  taken on hourly  (period) basis.   A candidate should secure not  less  than     50% of overall attendance in each Semester taking into account the total number of periods (hours) in all courses  put  together  as  against  the  total  number  of  periods  in  all  courses  offered  in  each semester,   in order to become eligible to appear for the End Semester Examinations.     

5. In case a candidate secures less than 50% of overall attendance, the candidate has to redo the same semester by paying again the “fee for the semester” i.e. Rs.12,500/‐ (Rupees Twelve thousand five hundred  only)  and  earn  50%  overall  attendance  to  become  eligible  to  appear  for  the  End Semester Examinations.  

6. It may be noted  that End Semester Examinations will be held at various designated Examination Centres and not necessarily at the Study Centre where the candidate attended the contact classes.  

7. End Semester Examinations shall be held on continuous basis on week days  including Saturdays and Sundays.   There  is  likely to be two End Semester Examinations per day,   one  in the forenoon and the other in the afternoon.  

8. Candidates those who have failed to attend the counselling on their counselling date, can come to the office of the  Director, Centre for Distance Education, Anna University, Chennai 25, on or before 15th  April for admission.  

9. Study Centres are available only in Tamil Nadu.
