As noted in the spring newsletter, but worth noting again – I remind youto please be considerate of your fellowcitizens and keep litter to a minimum, particularly in our parks where ourchildren will be out and about duringthe summer season. If you have ananimal, please be sure and pick up afterthem. If you fail to comply with thisdirective you may be subject to asummons and a fine. And our PoliceDepartment reminds us that if you seesomething, say something. It’s importantthat we look out for each other.
Prior to the June Primary Election,my colleagues and I had a wonderfulopportunity to meet and talk withmany of our residents as we canvassedthe town. Since we are a very diversecommunity of young, elderly and allthose in between, we were pleased toget the kind of feed-back one can onlyget by speaking to people one-on-one.Their comments and suggestions werenoteworthy and, as always, we will doour best to implement theirsuggestions. I remind our residentsthat if I can offer you any informationor assist you in anyway, please do nothesitate to contact my office at 732-562-2301.

**The newest addition to the museum’s permanent collection is a Federal period linen press built by Matthew Egerton, Jr., a late 18th
century New Brunswick joiner and cabinetmaker. Worth noting is that when an artifact is accessioned into the museum’s permanentcollection, it becomes the property of Piscataway Township (i.e., its residents). Three generations of Egertons were furniture makers inNew Brunswick from the 1760s to 1838 and were highly sought after for their beautifully made desks, cradles, tables, sideboards,bookcases, clock cases, and more. The Egerton’s shop and house was located on Burnet Street, near the Raritan River.○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○
