Join the Tampa Police Department for coffee and conversations. Coffee with a Cop is an opportunity to discuss the issues that matter most to you with law enforcement officers. This community solution-oriented program will take place the second Thursday of the month from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the

Entrepreneur Collaborative Center located at 2101 E.

Palm Ave. Parking is available across Palm Avenue in the Sheriff’s Lot.

New Initiatives Traffic Signal Boxes

Take notice of the one-of-a-kind commissioned signal cabinet wraps around the district. Four unique designs were curated with Ybor City heritage-inspired themes and installed in September. This is one of many planned improvements that have happened recently or are still to come throughout the district. For example, check out the new National Historic Landmark District gateway signs just installed around the perimeter of the district.

Palm Avenue Safety ImprovementsIn response to long standing safety concerns expressed by members of the Ybor community and Hillsborough Community College students, the City of Tampa assembled a Road Safety Audit Team to address pedestrian safety and infrastructure along Palm Avenue between Nick Nuccio Parkway and North 20th Street.

Based on recommendations by the audit team, enhanced nighttime illumination was provided with help from TECO. Four crosswalks and pedestrian ramps also were updated along the Palm Avenue corridor with the installation of pedestrian activated rectangular rapid flashing beacons.

21st & 22nd Streets OpeningDrivers arriving in Ybor City will appreciate the new and improved 21st and 22nd Streets, which only require minor aesthetic improvements to be finalized.

This beautiful two-lane boulevard now provides wider pedestrian-friendly sidewalks, new bike lanes and on-street parking as well as an iconic Ybor streetscape with historic lampposts, litter baskets and benches. These improvements are already attracting private investment with several new development projects planned along the corridor. Truck traffic will be restricted on 21st and 22nd Streets since trucks can use the Selmon Crosstown Expressway Connector.
