MAY/JUNE, 2016
In June of 2000, Vivian Koob called together the Respect Life coordina-tors and talked about doing a Jericho Walk. It was decided to start in Octo-ber and do seven Sundays. At that time ENLC only had one office locat-ed at 1823 N. Main, next door to the abortion clinic and 1829 N. Main, Dayton. The Respect Life coordina-tors gathered in the ENLC parking lot and Fr. Pavone and Janet Morana
were with them.
First they read the passage from Joshua 6: 1-17 about the walls of Jericho falling down and then we marched around the abortion clinic and ENLC seven times and each time we blew the Shafor in front of the clin-ic. The image of our Lady of Guada-lupe, Patroness of the Born and Un-born, was carried in front and the ro-sary was recited as they marched. A different priest led us each week or one of the lay people if we had no priest that week. The last day of our march was to be Dec. 14, 2000—a Sunday. On Dec. 12, 2000, the feast day of Our Lady of Guadalupe, I re-ceived a call from the clinic saying that they had been forced to close
that very day!
On April 9, 2016, pro-life marchers again walked around the abortion clinic on Stroop Road with Father Pavone leading the rosary. This march will continue on Sunday, May 15 and Sunday, May 22. On May 22, all will march around the abortion clinic seven times and then shout out loud and strong, just as they did at
Jericho.
