In 1946, two Maya took an American photographer called Giles Healey to the ruins of Bonampak in Mexico. The Maya still went to

the temple to pray to the gods. The Maya showed Healey three rooms with amazing Mayan murals from around the year 800.

The three rooms, known now as the Temple of Murals, showed frescoes of Mayan life.

The rooms had paintings on the walls, as well as on the sloped ceilings.
