RELAY FOR LIFE
SEPTEMBER 15, 2018
Totus Tuus is soon approaching. This will be my last year to organize and chair this for the parish. I am looking for someone to help cochair this event with me this year who would be interested in taking over. The benefits and joy I receive each year seeing how much fun the kids have far outweigh the little bit of effort it takes to put on this program. Please contact me if you have any questions. 5732530244.
VOLUNTEER NEEDED
TOTUS TUUS
Back by popular demand, our parish will be hosting once again a week long summer event for our
youth (July 15-20) called Totus Tuus. Totus Tuus (meaning “Totally Yours”) is a Catholic youth program dedicated to sharing the Gospel and promoting the Catholic faith through catechesis,
evangelization, Christian witness, and Eucharistic worship all within a spirit of fun. Throughout this week,
our youth will experience daily mass attendance, an opportunity for Reconciliation, Liturgy of the Hours,
the Rosary, the Angelus, Marian devotions, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and Adoration of The Blessed
Sacrament.
The week is broken into two age groups: The Junior High and High School Program: (90 youth maximum)
Eligible to attend: Those going into 7th Grade – 12th Grade Fall 2018
Sunday, July 15 – Thursday July 19 from 7:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
Thursday – MUSIC, GAMES, WATER ACTIVITIES, FOOD!!
The Grade School Program: (90 youth maximum)
Eligible to attend: Those going into 1st Grade – 6th Grade Fall 2018
Monday, July 16– Friday, July 20 from 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Friday –
OUTSIDE WATER FUN DAY
On Wednesday evening July 18, 2017, all parents will be invited to a potluck dinner in the parish hall so
that they too, can meet the team and witness our youth in Christ-led fellowship.
Our Totus Tuus team (2 men and 2 women) will be college students who have gone through intense
training. They are passionate about their Catholic faith and eager to spread the word of God. After
reading of this God-given opportunity, I know you will agree this is a Holy Spirit led initiative. I am sure
you will also agree, given all our youth have pulling at them; sports, work, gaming systems, internet and
cell phones just to name a few, a few hours dedicated to good Catholic fellowship can be all our youth
need to promote and encourage a continued relationship with Christ and His Church.
This will be a free program for our youth. There will be sign up to help with food. Snacks/drink/
lunches will be provided as well as before/aftercare for the day program. Snacks/drinks for the evening
program will be provided. For our younger youth, this program will replace VBS.
Most importantly, help me pray our youth into a stronger relationship with Christ. Return
your child(ren’s) registration form so that our planning may begin. Please do not hesitate to contact me
if you have any questions or concerns.
In Christ, Judy Kelly (573)253-0244 [email protected]
REGISTRATION FORMS ARE AVAILABLE IN THE BACK OF THE CHURCH
On May 12th & 13th the Knights of
Columbus Council #3760 will be picking up the
baby bottles that were handed out at the Masses
several weeks ago. Bottles can also be dropped
off at the rectory office. We will have a large baby
bottle in the back of church for anyone who did
not get a baby bottle and wants to make a
donation to this wonderful cause!!
Money from this campaign is used to maintain
and update the Ultrasound machines.
