King Antonio’s Visit
On Thursday, April 19th, Stacey Junior/Senior High School held its 2011~2012 Induction Ceremony for new members. This year’s ceremony saw the induction of twenty-eight ~10th thru 12th graders into National Honor Society and thirty-four ~7th thru 9th graders into National Junior Honor Society. Inductees were selected via a three-step process beginning with academic standings, moving through teacher ratings, and ending with a selection panel of teachers and administrators. Students were critiqued on scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship qualities. Returning members Tatiana Tway, Justin McClain, Jasmine Randolph, Alejandra Parham, Mysti Jones, and Gerardo Salgado, along with help from Mrs. Horn, Mrs. Rue, and Ms. Nicholson, conducted the ceremony for this year’s inductees. Honor Society qualities were incorporated into the ceremony, as well as an oath to follow the spirit and law of National Honor Society and National Junior Honor Society. Following the ceremony, refreshments were served to members and their family members who came to share in this wonderful experience! If you see any of the following students, please congratulate them on their new membership in such an honored society! High School Inductees for 2011-2012 Junior High Inductees for 2011-2012

Lisa, was born and raised in San Antonio. In 1999, I moved to North Carolina. I
married a United States Marine and was stationed at Cherry Point. For the past ten
years, I have worked as a director and program coordinator for an elementary
school in Havelock NC. I will be completing my bachelor’s degree in Early
Childhood Education (birth-kindergarten) at the end of this month. I have a 3 yr
old daughter, named Avery. I am so grateful to be a part of an awesome school. I
look forward to an exciting school year.

Last week Chanel Loudermilk wrote an article about Lolita Carrillo, the cafeteria manager. One of the questions was about her family. Our article said that one of her
daughters is an electrician. This was incorrect; her daughter is actually an
electrical engineer (at Tesoro).
We apologize for any confusion this may have caused.
