Verse “Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace” James 3:18
Greetings in the Name of Jesus!
Today is a gift from God. Live it to the fullest for His glory.
Well, we have a date on the calendar for our first on campus service. June 7th we will seek to have a corporate worship experience. Things won’t be the same as before and things won’t necessarily seem “normal”. We will need to look out for the health of ourselves and others while trying to gather together at the same time. We will wear masks, not shake hands, use hand sanitizer, not sit too close, etc. This can be difficult for Christian people. We are a social people. We love people, welcome people, and seek to cultivate relationships. But we can still do those things even under these unique circumstances.
We invite you to either join us June 7th at 10:30 a.m. on campus or join us online. We will continue to livestream the service on Facebook and YouTube. If our sanctuary capacity is reached (according to CDC recommendations), we will have an overflow area in our large fellowship hall that will livestream the service on the screen. I will still come by to greet those in attendance in the large fellowship hall in person.

Lyric
This will be a refreshing and exciting time for many. Others will still not feel ready to attend yet. Either way, we will continue to try and provide opportunities for each of you to worship Jesus. We look forward to seeing you soon.
Psalm 122:1 I was glad when they said to me, "Let us go to the house of the LORD."

JOB DIRECTORY
COVID-19 has wreaked havoc across our nation. We have yet to fully
see the economic impact it may have. In an effort to help our
membership, we are considering putting together a church business
directory that lists members and their business, service, and/or skill
they offer. This will give the membership the option to utilize their
service and help the local economy as well. If you have a business,
service, or skill that you would like us to put in the directory, email the
name and type of business, service, or skill, and best contact
information. We will keep the listings in the directory to church
members only, not extended family or friends. To be considered for
listing or if you have questions, email [email protected]

Coming up on June 1st, Pine and Main will release our new album
“Everything” on streaming services worldwide. This album is the
culmination of almost 4 years of work and we’re so excited about it!
The album features all original songs about subjects from the book of Proverbs and
also from the book of Matthew among others. Topics include wisdom, forgiveness,
humility, fighting temptation, the power of words, and the Sermon on the Mount.
Originally inspired to accompany Sunday sermon topics, these songs feature some
of our most heartfelt lyrics and arrangements. The band really took our time on
this album – with no shortcuts - making sure each track came out just right. As with
our previous album, hard copy CDs will be available along with cool new T-Shirts!

WBC Friends,
Are you bored after all these weeks of quarantine? Do you sew? Do you have scrap fabric? Do you have elastic? If you answered “Yes” to those questions, WBC needs you!
Pastor Chris is seeking church members who would be willing to sew masks for those in need. We would first like to offer masks to any of our church members (men, women and children). Secondly, we would also offer to regular attendees who may not be members and others in our surrounding community. Third, if we have enough sewers, we may have an opportunity through Dr. Scott Kellum to provide masks for a group in New York.
Catch? Did I mention there’s a catch? You would need to provide your own fabric, elastic (1/4” or 3/8”), wire and thread. Fabric must be 100% cotton! Masks should be made in a “smoke free”, “pet free”,“fragrance free” environment due to allergy situations of the people who will receive them. Please do not volunteer if you have been sick with cold/flu like symptoms. The good news is, a pattern for the masks is attached. This style uses less fabric than the traditional surgical style. I find it to be more comfortable too.
Thank you for your consideration of this very worthwhile project. If you are interested, contact Bobbie Sue Rudder (919)365-6194 or [email protected] for more specific information.

IS THERE A PASTOR IN THE HOUSE?
Do you need to talk to a pastor? Pastor Chris is keeping up a regular work schedule
from home, as much as possible, during this time. He is available for prayer, pastoral
counsel, or even virtual pastoral visits. If you have Skype, Facetime, or Zoom, you can
schedule a virtual face-to-face meeting. If you have another program instead, let Pastor
Chris know and he’ll seek to work that out if possible. To schedule an appointment,
contact him at 919-901-7131, or text him at that number (fastest way to get a response)
or email him at [email protected].

In his New Testament letters, Paul addresses churches in Galatia, Ephesus,
Colossae and other areas discussing important matters of the early church. From
these letters we learn much about Paul’s inner thoughts and beliefs and also much
about how we are to live as Christians. Paul had journeyed to many places in the
ancient world, preaching and starting churches. But when did Paul set out on
these journeys, and where did they take him?
EPISODE 5 – Paul in Jerusalem – The Apostle in the Holy City
Paul visits Judea at least five times during his missionary years, returning to
the city where he had formerly delivered Christian prisoners.
Paul’s first visit to Jerusalem as a Christian comes early in his ministry, about three years after his conversion on the road to Damascus. There he preaches the Gospel openly in the heart of Jewish cultural and spiritual life. Paul also takes this opportunity to meet personally with Peter and James, the brother of Jesus. At first the disciples in Jerusalem are afraid to meet with Paul because of his violent past against members of the Way. In Acts 11:29-30 Luke recounts that “during the reign of Claudius”, Paul returns to the city with Barnabas for famine relief. Helping the less fortunate and afflicted was a centerpiece of Jesus’ ministry on earth, and so it is for Paul and the disciples. In Acts 15:1-19 we learn of Paul’s third trip to Jerusalem. This was likely to take part in what is now known as the “Council of Jerusalem” at which Peter, Paul and the other disciples discuss important matters of the early church. This leads to disagreements between Paul, Peter and Barnabas until a compromise is reached. Paul writes about this trip in Galatians 2. Paul again travels to Jerusalem in Acts 18:21-22 to greet the church and strengthen the brethren there. Paul’s fifth visit to the holy city in AD 57 will be his last. Having travelled thousands of miles and visited city after city founding churches, Paul feels the Holy Spirit once again calling him to Jerusalem. He is warned by Agabus, a prophet, in Acts 21 that he will be “bound and turned over…”.
Retracing the Pathways of Paul
15
Part of Paul’s mission in Jerusalem is to present offerings and aid to the poor. At first he is well received. Soon however, despite having undergone a purification ritual showing respect for Jewish custom, Paul once again runs afoul of local Jewish leaders and is arrested. Paul is transferred to Cesarea Maritima where he awaits trial before Marcus Antonius Felix, until the new governor, Porcius Festus reopens his case in 59 AD. It is likely that Paul could have been freed at this point had he sought a verdict - but instead he exercises his right as a Roman citizen to “appeal before Cesar” and sets out for Rome under escort.
