Grand Knight’s Message
* Grand Knight: Don Hogan
* Deputy Grand Knight:
Michael Morris
* Financial Secretary:
Kevin Strezo
* Treasurer: Jeff Bacha
Happy Happy Spring :-) Thanks to all
Brothers who helped with the St B School
Cinnamon Bun sale and all who helped
the Arc and the Knights sponsor the
seminar on Concussion, Depression, and
Suicide at Rustic Lodge.
As they say on Saturday in PGA Golf
Tournaments -- " May is Moving Day!!”
and for our Council, WE are Moving at
light speed in May …
We have Election of Officers, voting for
Knight of the Year, revealing the Sibley
Scholarship winner, helping Eric
Moisa get our ducks in a row for the
Measure Up Campaign fund drive on
May 4 and 5.
Bob Dalecki is in high gear with the Moth-
er's Day Carnation sale May 12 and 13,
with proceeds to be used for helping to
fund the 4-D ultrasound machine in the
new Greensburg Center. We have also
purchased rosaries for all the 1st Com-
munion candidates.
We are finally getting some Golf weather
and Bob and I are planning the 23rd
Annual K of C Golf tour-
nament that happens on
Friday, June 22. Best
$60 you'll spend to have
fun and help support our
charities … we need
volunteers, cooks, golf-
ers, hole sponsors and
prizes to give away to a bunch of lousy
golfers. We will be helping to sponsor
the St B School, Strack, Angelo and
Rado golf tournaments …
Thanks to all of our Brothers and part-
ners in crime who forgo their honey-do
list ... to help make the world a better
place one shanked golf shot at a time!!
ALSO, for your added pleasure and en-
joyment, the Bishop, Fr Tom and Fr Alan
are planning a Corpus Christi Procession
from St Bernard Church thru downtown
to St Thomas More on June 3rd at 9:30
Mass. Kind of a procession like the
"running of the bull dogs." Come one,
come All.
4th Degree Exemplification will be held
on June 3rd in Cranberry for you 3rd
Store collections for this
year’s Measure-Up Campaign

Carnations on Mother’s Day—and in Support of a Pro-Life Cause
Once again, it’s time to honor our Mothers this coming Mother’s Day, while funding those who support a
choice for life. The Knights of Columbus Council 1481 will run this campaign. donating one half of the profits
to My Choice. A fitting gift on Mother’s Day. The price for each carnation is just one dollar.
Carnations will be sold in 3 different ways:
1. Available for sale at St Bernard’s and St Thomas More churches after all Masses on Mother’s
Day weekend, May 13. Please consider helping after these Masses.
2. Pre-orders from local churches and restaurants. Please consider helping to fill those orders on Friday evening, May 11,
at the lodge, and distributing carnations on Saturday morning, May 12.
3. Individual pledges to purchase carnations for the nursing and personal care homes will be accepted. Please consider making a
pledge or asking for pledges from others, such as your place of work.
For any additional information or to offer your help, contact Bob Dalecki 724 840-2829 or [email protected] .

On the first and third Saturday of
every month, a group of us travel
to Pittsburgh – to an East Liberty
abortion clinic– to pray intently
that the girls and women planning
to enter the clinic to end the lives
of their unborn babies will change
their minds. We are led by Fr.
Timothy Kruthaupt, who travels
from St. Peter’s Church in Browns-
ville and brings with him supplies and more of
those who are willing to stand up for Life.
The Big Question – Do we save babies and
mothers? For several years now, we Catholics
from several churches have taken part in the 40
Days Campaign, two 40-day periods during the
year to stand in support of unborn children in
front of abortion clinics.
This international effort has resulted in 14,643
lives being saved over the last seven years.
On one occasion, when Fr. Frank Pavone of
Priests for Life was standing outside a clinic in
Orlando, Flori-
da, saying the Rosary, a Catholic
girl inside the clinic was so moved
that she came out of the clinic and
decided to keep her baby. A few
months later, Fr. Pavone again
visited Florida and, while there, it
was arranged that he would bap-
tize the child whose life he had
had helped to save.
We don’t see many turn-arounds,
but we have witnessed some. As prayer wor-
shippers, we are there primarily to offer trou-
bled women a way out of their decision to kill
their babies.
We’ve heard stories of women who show up at
the clinics holding an infant, explaining that a
few months earlier they had been there to abort
their unborn child but had changed their minds
when they saw us praying and offering help.
You do not need money to join us. You only
need a free morning to be part of a life-saving
cause. Transportation is provided. Contact me
at 724-465-2827. Br. Ray Micco How prepared are you--really?
Today you're healthy. But what about tomorrow? What if you, or your spouse, were to become physically or mentally incapacitat-ed? Assistance might be needed with daily activities at home or nursing care. 70% of people over age 65 will
require long term care during
their lifetime. (U.S. Department
of Health & Human Services)
The average individual can
spend up to $74,825 per year
for long term care expenses.
(Consumer's Guide to Long Term
Care Insurance)
The average stay in a nursing
home is two and one half
years. (Department of Health &
Human Services - 2010)
40% of people needing long
term care are under age 65.
(The Consumer's Guide to Long
Term Care Insurance)
Could you or your children
take care of this $150,000+
potential cost?
Please contact me to learn more
about how the Knights of Colum-
bus Long Term Care program
can help you.
