Mission: To be a strong advocate for business

I know that it’s hard to believe, but the first quarter of the year is gone. How did your first quarter go? What would you do differently? How did your chamber membership help? Could the chamber have done more? The chamber is a business organization and as a business organization, it’s only going to be as strong as the membership base. One of the primary goals of the Chamber is to create value for every member company from individual business owners to Fortune 500 companies while recognizing the wide range of needs and expectations of each membership. We want to help you to succeed! Our chamber continues to grow because of the strong support of our members, our helpful staff and a broad range of dedicated committee volunteers, each contributing his/her unique gifts and talents. The more we engage the more value all of us experience from our memberships. So, would it have helped you if you had been more involved? Sometimes it “takes a village” to make a business, school, nonprofit organization or community successful. Consider the power each new member organization and its representative(s) brings to the table when they join the Chamber:

• personal and business networks • particular expertise – skills, talents or market niche • roles in the community – locally, regionally, nationally or

globally • unique perspective unlike any other member because of

individual talents and company cultures. • personal experience and the experiences of their

business and industry that could be of benefit to others • and, creative, new ideas and approaches that enhance

our volunteer committees Seek out the new members when they join us. What you learn from each other could be your best investment of the year! What you learn could help you to be even more successful this quarter.

Membership meeting packets Looking for a low-cost method to reach our members? The answer is to include your marketing flyer in our membership luncheon packets. It’s easy to do and it only costs $10. Bring your 8 ½” X 11”marketing flyer to the chamber office on the Monday before the membership meeting and it will be collated for distribution at the membership luncheon. It is advisable to call ahead and find out how many pieces to bring to the office.

CHAMBER BUCKS

PROGRAM For each member you refer, we will give you either $25 off your membership or a free luncheon. (The option of $25 off the membership dues is capped to the amount of the referrer’s membership dues.) This program helps both the member making the referral and the chamber. The person making the referral doesn’t need to bring in a membership application – just the name of a person that might benefit from a chamber membership. We will take care of explaining the benefits of being a member and signing them up.

The entrance and facility were overflowing with residents and well-wishers from the community. You may remember this facility as The Hallmark of Creve Coeur. It was officially rebranded as Brookdale Creve Coeur at a ribbon cutting on April 30th. It is still the same great place but with a new name. A fabulous reception was held with delicious food and drinks along with entertainment by the Banjos & Brass Band.

SPEAKER: KATIE HALLORAN

TOPIC: ACCIDENTS 101

The average driver has an accident once every nine years. Because of this infrequency, drivers may not be prepared in the best way to handle the accident. First they have to get the car removed from the site of the accident, then process a claim and work through the repairs. This talk will give specific information on how to mitigate through the process. Katie Halloran will moderate this presentation along with:

Mary Perkins, O’Connor Insurance (personal lines – home and auto) Elizabeth Smith, O’Connor Insurance (commercial and personal lines claims)

Kevin Haller, Schaefer Autobody Center (collision repair) Jack Windish, Crane Insurance Agency (umbrella policies)

This will be a fun and interactive presentation filled with surprising and interesting facts.
