Hi TBirder’s
Well it’s almost winter and some of the Tbird’s are tucked up nice and
dry waiting for the beautiful sunny Autumn or Winter days because
summer is a long way off. Perhaps some are getting that much needed
service or just repairs
9 May 2015
For the NSW Branch we had the State Titles at Nelson Bay and this
time I managed to get my Tbird to the event using a permit to move. It
was great to be a part of the activities and not have to tow a trailer to the
event.
Last weekend (1st to 3
rd May) we had the President’s social run to
Forbes and the McFeeter Car Museum. We left Sydney in rain and cold
for 22° and mostly blue sky.
I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all the members
that came along for the weekend. I know that coming up there is an All
Ford Day at Kellyville on Saturday 16th May there and NSW Branch
has a run to Orange in June.
There seems to be some type of activity at least every second weekend
in both NSW and Victoria which is great to see. So much for slowing
down during winter!
I am looking forward to the National Concours in Wagga Wagga in
September and the CMC event prior to that in August. Weather
permitting I will be to take my Thunderbird out for a run on the track
the day before with the Morgan Car Club hosted Supersprint at Sydney
Motorsport Park on the day before the CMC event

Treasurer’s Report
Report for April/May.
G’day All,
Time rolls by and before we know it is time for us to do our reports for
another magazine. As I wrote in my last report, it would have been great
to have 100% of membership financial by 31 March. Well
unfortunately that idea soon went out the window as we had only 48%
of members who had paid by the due date. We did have a bit of a rush
after I sent a list of unfinancial members to state directors with another
14% paying by the 20/04 2015. Unfortunately that’s it, as renewals
seem to have stopped. We have had a few new members which is great
to see.
I must ask that if members do pay their subscriptions by bank transfer
that they put a name with transfer or their membership number. It is
much easier in helping me work out who has sent the money, as I have
not mastered mind reading at the moment. I still have one person who
has sent money through the bank by depositing cash at the bank and
getting the bank to transfer it to our TOCA account, but no name to say
who it is, the money was deposited at Penrith Plaza, in Sydney. If this
was you, would you please let me know.
The TOCA account presently has $5,799.25. The term deposit is
standing at the moment at $8,790.86. This is due to roll over on
the 28/04/2015.
That’s all for now. Will talk to you again in the next magazine.

NSW Report
G’day all
The year is flying and almost half over. Our State titles were held at
Nelson Bay and experienced numerous variations in the weather from
very hot on Friday to a comfortable Saturday to a wet and dry Sunday.
We booked the motel completely out (which may have been a good
thing) and plenty of undercover parking.
Friday night’s meet and greet went off well with plenty of stories and
tales and some enjoying it further well into the night or should I say
early morning, whatever it was. Saturday looked a little ‘how ya goin’
with some rain in the early morning and the possibility of rain
throughout the day, but the car gods were good to us and gave us a
comfortably day.
We were able to assemble the cars in a nice area next to the water and
great views. Jim organised the judging and the judges, thanks to Jim
and the guys, once again a great job. The cars were well presented and
promoted with many of the public taking interest. Some of the girls
decided to go into town for some retail therapy with Laraine providing
some purchasing entertainment.
14 May 2015
Saturday night’s presentation and raffle will take some beating as the
food was good, the company was good, the raffle was good and the
entertainment/auction provided by a sick Peter was great. A big thanks
to Pat for the work leading up to and including the night. Another great
job.
Sunday started off as a mixed bag of fruit with the weather intervening.
Some of us left early to try and have an easy trip home only to
encounter some uncomfortable weather and some idiot drivers while
others stayed on to enjoy a luncheon before leaving.
There were a few other events which were not planned for over the
weekend. Rob & Lynda’s car was stuck at one of their relatives houses,
but still attended, well done guys. Denis & Julie struck heavy traffic and
had problems on the way and then a bit further down the road blew a
tyre as well as trying an iron man trick by stopping the car from getting
away whilst up on the jack, need some chocks in the car Denis. Naomi
found cutting a bread roll was too easy so she attacked her hand with
that resulting with a trip to the hospital only to have the laceration glued
up. We could have save her a trip as some of us carry super glue in our
cars. Sid found that changing a pair of wiper blades for $3 ended up
costing about 2 grand for a new windscreen. Shaz had an argument with
some steps and then tried to renovate the wall only to come off second
best, but after a bit of a headache came good. Chris & Laraine had a
BBQ on the way home, unfortunately it was under the bonnet of the car.
Stick with it guys, this is why we are called enthusiasts, for the want of
another description.
The Bundanoon outing started off with some wet weather and the
numbers were a little down. The rest of the day was dry with some good
Scottish entertainment and many stalls. We then went off to the
MAGPIE café to have a very enjoyable meal and you guessed it some
culinary (calorie) delights.
At the time of writing this I am almost thinking of trading the Tbird in
for something about 6 cubits long as the rain has not let up for some
time, not much work/maintenance or service able to be carried out.
15 May 2015
By the time you are reading this we will have been to Forbes with a trip
to Orange coming up on the 19th
, 20th
& 21st June. Further reports in the
next mag.
Stay safe

Victorian Report March 2015 Hi Guys
We are now entering that time of the year with the weather turning and
the bird confined to the shed, perhaps for some maintenance or
upgrades but we have had a reasonable summer and some great events.
I have been advised from Sydney that there are some members who are
not financial please patyASAP if you intend on staying with club.
We had our state titles towards end of March at Shepperton and I think
it was very successful event, with the results following but we could
have done better if the member numbers were higher. The Motel
catered well for us with the only complaint being the price of drinks.
Saturday saw around twenty T/Birds on display in the park opposite the
Motel, providing some fantastic photos and Saturday night was fancy
dress with a trophy presentation. I would have to say some of the
costumes were way out there and extremely well done, thank you to
everyone who participated.
One Good Friday we hosted a car show for the royal Children’s
Hospital Appeal at the Exhibition and Convention Centre; what a
rewarding day. Club T/Birds were a little light on but we had 65 cars 2
motor bikes a Kenworth truck which the kids loved and a tank. My
most sincere thanks go out to Platon and everyone else connected to the
event, it was a team effort, with an incredible result. The foundation
was very impressed and we have been asked to do it again next year.
One of our favourite events on the Calender is the All American Day at
Flemington, but this year it was a non event as the weather washed it
out on the day. Our club had decided on Saturday not to attend which as
it happens was the correct decision. I hope the AMOC didn’t lose too
much and will carry on next year.
18 May 2015
This could very well be my last report, as I have resigned my position
due to apathy within the club, but I am still waiting for the right person
to contact me, so if you have the strength and desire please do so.
That’s about it.
Keep on T’Birding

Thunderbird Revenge By Tony Napier
Adapted from the song “Emergency Ward” Circa 1965
I was floatin’ down the highway on my T-Bird cloud
Singin’ songs I knew so well from the cassette playin’ loud
I was listenin’ to Chuck Berry
I was listenin’ to Jerry Lee
I sailed thru a red light that I didn’t even see
I thought I’d just keep goin’
I thought I’d just shoot thru
But then I had to deal with those dirty boys in blue.
Point Prover
Fast mover
Swingin’ groover
They pulled me over to the kerb
They thought they had me bluffed
But when I saw the cars they had, I knew they weren’t that tough
They said I was a naughty boy, but I knew that wasn’t true
They said that “you have no idea what we will do to you
They told me I would lose my bird
They said it would be towed
So I gunned the big 390 and I took off down the road

Fast mover
I heard those screamin’ sirens and I saw those flashin’ lights
But bt the time they got into their cars I was outta sight
When I hit the freeway I let the big bird run
I really can’t remember if I ever had more fun
I knew they’d never catch me, cause the bird was just too fast
And then I saw them turn around, I really had to laugh
Now when I’m cruisin’ thru the town the cops all look away
Cause they know they’ll never catch me, on this or any day
You may think this story’s silly but I swear that it’s all true
And I never have to worry’ bout those dirty boys in blue
