Escape is coming to Central Florida! If you are not familiar with Porsche Escape it is a non-competitive compliment to Porsche Parade. Each year Parade is held as a national competitive event. Escape is usually on the opposite side of the country from Parade to attract different regional participants, as well as those who may prefer a more social environment.
In 2014 Space Coast Region and Florida Citrus Region are jointly hosting Escape to Magical Orlando at the Disney Coronado Springs Resort. This venue provides a fantastic family oriented location from which to provide many Porsche and family events. We will have dinners, drives, a people’s choice concours/car show, a goodie store and many other activities. November is the perfect time to come to Central Florida for great weather and less crowds.
Please join us in executing this fantastic event. We need volunteers to help with:
• Events• Drives• Meals• Publications• Advertising • Sponsors• Web/FaceBook• Safety/Security• Registration• Hospitality
You can volunteer to be a committee chairperson or a supporter. We need everyone to step up and help make this one of the premier events ever held for Porsche Club of America and YOU CAN DO IT!
Ready to help? Contact Lou Linden at [email protected], or Steve Hoffman at [email protected].
WE NEED YOU for the ESCAPE to Magical Orlando!!!

shou ld be. Maybe that per son “already has everything,” or has pecu-liar tastes, or we simply don’t have time to shop.
We all long to give perfect gifts, but it takes time and a lot of thought. And, unfortunately, some of us just aren’t as adept at the task.
That ’s where A A A Visa Gif t Cards save the day. You choose the amount to place on the cards–between $10 and $500—and recipi-ents get to take it from there, choos-ing the perfect gifts for themselves.

LastweekendwewentwithsomeotherPCAmembers to the event “Targa 66” hostedby the Redman family at the Palm BeachInternationalRaceway.Greateventwithsomeincredible cars.Well, wedid theparade lapsat lunchtime. Eva drove and she became alittle frustratedat the relatively lowspeedofthegroup, buttheywereparadelapsafterall.I sat in the passenger seat and had the dutyoffilmingwiththeusualcharismaticiPhone. Then we relaxed for a few minutes on pitlane, ready for the faster touring laps. ThistimeIwasatthewheel, whileEvaearnedthehonorsofbeingthevideocamerawomaninthepassengerseat.Westartedandthecarsinfront seemed slower than snails, so I passedtwoofthemonthebackstraight.
That’s when Eva started to panic. Then Istartedglidingonthecurbsandusingasmuchtrackaspossible.IcouldnoticetheiPhoneinEva’sshakyhandswasnotfollowingthelapswhatsoever. I filmed herfromthepitlanewall.Whenallwassaidanddone,andnomorelapswereallowedonthetrack,wecomparedfilmsontheiPhones.Theones I took were steady, showing the entirelaps, the track, andsomebrief shotsofEva’sface and her hands on the wheel, standardstuff. When we saw thevideo she took, I feltcompletely disconnected. The video jumped fromshotsofthebottomoftheconsole, to some imagesof the dashboard, a briefglimpse of the track infront, but the majorityof the film was centeredon her feet, showingher sneakers madly andfiercelyplantedonthecarfloor. Why those shots?Nobody knows, but Ireally think they wereunplanned.
