In the Gospel Jesus tells us that He will return and when He does He will separate us into sheep and goats, depending on how much we used our blessings to help those in need. DEFENDING OUR RELIGIOUS FREEDOM:
The Ad Hoc Committee on Religious Liberty of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has published a document, “Our First, Most Cherished Freedom,” urging the clergy and laity to work to protect the First Freedom in our Bill of Rights. We discovered there are names that need to be added to the St. Jude record for First Communion year 1990. If you or your child made First Communion along with Nora Claus, Shannon Bienkowski, Nicole LaPointe, Margaret Kaser, Ryan Potts, Bill DeCarli, and Nick Sibicky please contact the church office at 860-429-2860 or [email protected] so we can add your information to the church record.

CONFIRMATION PRAYER: Dear Lord, Please bestow the Holy Spirit upon our Confirmation classes. They are making a huge step forward in their Catholic
journey. Help them live out the life they were meant to live in the Catholic faith. May You guide them with Your eternal light, even during the most difficult times. May the Holy Spirit guide them as they choose their paths and struggle with some of life’s greatest decisions. May they find peace knowing You are with them. Amen.

NEEDED REPAIRS FOR ST. PHILIPS It has been a long time since very necessary repairs have been made to our beautiful and unique church. The roof was found in very good shape and needed minor repairs. But the façade of our church, the large windows and the stairway by the old bathrooms need immediate attention. These are our first concerns and the cost of repairing them will run around $40,000, give or take …. We are seriously considering a capital campaign to raise over $150.000.00 to make these and many more repairs to the rectory and parish center as well. I will keep you posted.

A Parent’s Guide: Teaching the Truth and Meaning of Human Sexuality. A DVD is available for you to purchase from www.catholicparents.org it has been featured on EWTN and is based on the 1995 document by the Pontifical Council for the Family ‘The Truth and Meaning of Human Sexuality”. This entire document can be read on the EWTN website on libraries. The document and DVD is on target for our present time and age appropriate on when, how and what to say to your children. College of Saint Mary Magdalen: Summer Programs Once again, The College of Saint Mary Magdalen in Warner, NH is pleased to offer its Summer Programs for high school students. The Collegiate Summer Program offers participants the opportunity to study theology, philosophy, literature and political science. Our new Latin Immersion program will offer participants the opportunity to spend an entire week engaged in speaking, reading, and writing Latin. During the summer programs, students also attend daily Mass and enjoy sports, socials and day trips including hiking and canoeing. The programs are for students who will be entering their sophomore, junior or senior year of high school in the fall of 2012. It is also open to students who have just graduated high school.
