Page 4: MAY 10, 2010 Redistricting Proposal. Committee Members Bill Long Beau Barrett Becky Edlin Larry Heydon Robert Hill Susan Mullendore* Jeff Rayner Tonya

Criteria

To the greatest extent possible:• Assign students to attend schools closest to

their homes• Maintain neighborhoods and subdivisions• Balance enrollments and promote effective,

efficient use of facilities• Minimize the number of students who will

have to change schools• Allow for some enrollment grown in all

buildings• Develop a plan that will not require

frequent redistricting • Results will have a favorable impact upon

our transportation system

Grandfathering

Incoming 5th and 8th graders may request to continue enrollment at their 2009-10 home school. Siblings of grandfathered students are not included Parents are responsible for transportation to and from

school Students must arrive at school on-time each day and must

be picked up in a timely fashion at the end of each day Continued misbehavior or failing to drop off or pick up

students in a timely manner may result in the revoking of the approved transfer request any time during the school year

School Choice

To transfer to schools outside of the assigned attendance area, the following guidelines will be followed and agreed to by all parties in advance of the transfer: The parent or guardian may initiate transfer requests on behalf of

their child/ren. The transfer request form is available on the corporation website and

must be used. The person initiating the transfer will present detailed reasons for the

transfer, which will be considered seriously in the approval process. Once the request is made, it will be forwarded to the Assistant

Superintendent. Transfers that cause the receiving school or class to exceed

reasonable size will not be approved. Parents are responsible for transportation to and from school
