Dinner begins at 5:30 in Fellowship Hall and the program begins at 6:30 in the Sanctuary.

Scholarship ApplicationsGreeter Feature:

Megan Stambaugh

As you may know, OGUMC kicked o a new greeter program in February. We asked greeter Megan Stambaugh a few questions about her experiences: When and how did you join OGUMC? We joined OGUMC in spring of 2010. We had been attending services for a pretty short time but got the feeling right away that this was going to be our church home.

Would you please share a memory from your rst visit to OGUMC? From our rst few visits at the 8:30 service, we started seeing some of the "regulars" and so many friendly folks went out of their way to welcome us. ey remembered us and told us they were glad we were back. at made this really big church feel like a hometown congregation.

What do you like about being a greeter? I love standing in the portico and seeing all the familiar faces in between services but I really love when someone walks in for the rst time and I get to be the rst person to greet them and show them where to go. If I can be helpful, friendly and welcoming when they rst walk through the door, I like to think they will feel more comfortable coming inside.

ank you, Megan! We appreciate all of our greeter volunteers, and would love to have more. If you are interested in this once a month, 30-minute volunteer opportunity, please contact Amity Farrar (404-432-3465 or [email protected]).
