    BOTANICAL ART & ILLUSTRATION PROGRAM

    Matting & Floating Artwork Winter/Spring 2011

    Note: An $8.00 prep and accessory materials fee will be requested at first class. I will supplymats, backing, tape, hinges, tools, blades and incidental materials.

    In addition to discussion, handouts, and demonstration, you will actually cut one mat andcreate one floated image in this workshop.

    Small botanical (or other) pieces to mat and float

    Piece to mat: Artwork in any medium is fine as long as the image will fit comfortably into a 5X 7 mat opening. The paper size must be larger than the 5 X 7 opening. If you are indoubt, bring a couple of options. Consider a classroom exercise, a little piece tucked away ina file, or ANY 5 X 7 artwork.

    Piece to Float: The image must be small enough to rest comfortable on an 8X10 backingwith open space around all sides. Bring something small or something that can be broughtdown to size.

    Pencil and paper for figuring sizes

    Exacto knife

    Repositionable Scotch Tape (blue plaid packaging)
