She will be teaching a Dialeccal Behavior Therapy (DBT) course in the Clinical Psychology Doctoral program, and may parcipate in other courses in the with the doctoral program in the future. Tracy Binius, MD – Health System Clinician: Dr. Binius works as a psychiatrist in Psychosomac Medicine at CDH. She will get involved in educaonal programs with the Department. Ellen Markus, MD – Health System Clinician: Dr. Markus works as a psychiatrist in her private pracce on campus. She will supervise residents and parcipate in other educaonal programs in the Department. Ashok Nagella, MD – Health System Clinician: Dr. Nagella works as a psychiatrist at the collaborave care program at Erie Family Health FQHC. He will work with residents as part of the new integrated care rotaon. Pavan Prasad, MD – Health System Clinician: Dr. Prasad is the Execuve Director at Clarity Clinic on campus, and will col- laborate with the Department’s protocols by referring paents, and will provide other contribuons to the educaonal and research programs in the Department. Educaon PGY2 Ronke Pederson was chosen as an APA Diversity Leadership Fellow for 2017-2019. PGY2 Elizabeth Ryznar was chosen as an APA Leadership Fellow for 2017-2019. PGY3 Chandon Khandai was elected President of the APA Leadership Fellows, a group of 20 psychiatry residents from around the U.S. who are chosen for a 2 year fellowship in leadership sponsored by the APA. Twelve psychiatry residents travelled to Springfield March 2017 for Advocacy Day sponsored by the Illinois Psychiatric Society. PGY4 Amy Curs presented her work in poster format, along with faculty member Suena Massey MD, at the Lewis Lands- berg Research Day, and the poster won third place in the Public Health and Social Sciences division. The tle of the poster was, “Social informaon processing ability and change in cigaree smoking during pregnancy: Tesng a novel social-cognive-affiliave model of health behavior change”. Womens Mental Health Fellow Lisee Rodriguez-Cabezas co-presented a workshop at AADPRT on culture in residency training.

Joan Anzia, M.D. gave a plenary presentation at the annual AADPRT meeting entitled “Assessment of Fatigue and Distress in Residents”. Dr. Anzia also presented three workshops at AADPRT. She also delivered a plenary presentation at the ABPN (American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology) Crucial Issues Forum on Physician Wellness on April 10th. Katherine Wisner, MD Norman and Helen Asher Professor of Psychiatry and Ob/gyn, has been awarded the American Psy-chiatric Association’s 2017 Award for Research in Psychiatry, for her contributions to perinatal psychiatry. This is one of APA’s most prestigious awards and comes with an award of $5000 along with the award lecture. First awarded in 1949 as the Hofheimer Prize, the Award for Research in Psychiatry recognizes a single distinguished contribu-tion, a body of work, or a lifetime contribution that has had a major impact on the field and/or altered the practice of psychiatry.

Other News Linda A. Teplin, PhD was appointed to serve on the National Academy of Science’s Standing Committee on Law and Jus-tice. Ce-PIM researchers successfully conducted the first of a series of workshops on the basics of Implementation Science this past December. The workshop was led by Dr. C. Hendricks Brown, Dr. J.D. Smith, Nanette Benbow and Juan Villamar and was well attended both in person and online via webcast. The Prevention Science and Methodology Group (PSMG) continues its 20-year history of weekly “virtual’ grand rounds presentations this spring with three mini-series. Dr. Wouter Vermeer just concluded organizing a section on complexity models, kicked off by Dr. Uri Wilensky on agent-based modeling. March 14th we are shifting gears into a three-part se-ries on intensive longitudinal data headed up by Dr. Bengt Muthen of UCLA. Dr. Booil Jo of Stanford University will round out the year by organizing a series of six presentations on personalized medicine.
