• Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest. Study centered on how deforestation affects nutrient cycles. The forest consisted of several watersheds each drained by a single creek. Impervious bedrock was close to the surface, which prevented seepage of water from one forested hillside, valley, and creek ecosystem to another.
