Dear Friends,

Thank you so much for all your

support for the major event on

April 23. We certainly had a fan-

tastic evening and, if you haven't

already, do check the photos

from this historical night.

Next on the agenda is the trib-

ute to David Bowie on Sunday 29

May. I have formed, with much

help from my husband Kerry, a fine band to play with at

the organ pavilion. The music is wonderful and we are

all looking forward to this afternoon. The CWB (can

you guess?) is a great bunch of musicians and we will be

performing a number of times in the future.

We are sailing fast to the International Organ Festi-

val, and as I write to you, final details are being pro-

cessed for all the eminent artists who will visit and per-

form on the great Spreckels Organ.

I hope you can join us. If not, visit us online.

Best Wishes

Dr. Carol

Dear Friends,

Hopefully you were able to

come to the wonderful concert cele-

brating the Spreckels organ becom-

ing the largest outdoor pipe organ

on the planet. Not only was it an

inspiring and (dare I say it?) giddy

occasion, but Carol arranged a con-

cert that featured the new bells and

whistles (literally) on the organ, and the varied pro-

gram showed the world how versatile our beloved in-

strument is.

I hope that you have occasion to see and purchase

a copy of the new Spreckels history book. It is in-

formative, it is beautiful, and it is great fun to read.

The color pictures really pop out at you and the histor-

ic pictures give you an insight into how important the

organ and pavilion have been for over a hundred

years. You will be proud to own a copy and, I am

sure, you will refer back to it many times in the days

to come. (Now could be a good time to think of

stocking up for Christmas gifts as well.)

Now, looking forward, the Summer Organ Festival

will be opening in just about a month. Please plan to

come on as many Monday nights as you can. You

will be glad that you did. The f!rst concert will fea-

ture Civic Organist Robert Plimpton and Marine Band

San Diego. This is sure to be a very popullar concert,

so plan on arriving early. Speaking of early, consider

attending the Bach's Supper that precedes the concert.

Good fellowship, good food, and good parking places!

What is there not to like? Find your invitation else-

where in this StopTab.

We are in exciting days for Spreckels. I thank you

for your participation in our total program and hope

that you will stay involved with us for many years to

come! Warmly,

Jack Lasher

President
