I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Moment of SilenceTo honor the lives lost on 9/11, in the line of duty, and in Baltimore and everywhere injustice takes place.

Individual student portfolios with at least 12 exemplary or perfect pieces of work.

Demonstrating higher order thinking and the editing and revision process.

Writing is very important. Ask your child’s teacher what will be

included in their portfolio and why. Every item should have a rubric to help

students understand what is expected and to help teachers grade the work.

More than 80% of our students passed the 2014 MSA. All grades outperformed the city average. Many grades outperformed the state average.

We will not have 2015 PARCC results back until

12/2015.

PARCC testing in grades 308 in reading and math will be much shorter this year.

NWEA is a computer-based pre- and post- test given in September and May in reading and math.

NWEA is adaptive, so when a question is answered correctly the next one is harder. It is very accurate.

We can see student growth over one year. Pre-testing for grades 1-8 take place this

month.

A better measure – NWEA Growth Test
