Heart Rate Monitors
Measures a person's heart rate in real time.
Can be used to maintain optimum training level during exercise. Train at certain percentages for improving VO2.
2 models: Fingertip and Chest Strap Cost: $30-60
Speed and Distance Monitors
Measure how far and how fast you’ve trained Allow data to be downloaded to your computer. 2 models: GPS Driven and Accelerometer
GPS: speed and distance information in a highly convenient, one-piece wristwatch unit.
More expensive: $250-500

400 Series Force Plate
Lightweight, portable, powered by a USB port Automatically downloads test results at high speeds Low cost
Measurement of vertical ground reaction force providing very accurate data on athlete’s performance in: Vertical jump height, squat, dead lift, bench press
The Ballistic Measurement System can calculate: Jump height, peak velocity/force/power output,
starting strength, max rate of force development
Conclusion
All of these pieces of technology/software can be implemented into your athlete’s training program and help improve overall performance.
All of the equipment is relatively cheap.
