WORK HISTORY

2008 – Present. Moores metals/Moorway stainless – yard manager/operations manager.

7 years relevant experience in the day to day operations of a successful metal recycling company providing management and operations support to site personnel.

Stock control. Responsible for delivery, movement, quality control and dispatch on a just in time basis.

Quality control. Responsible for analysing all grades of ferrous, non – ferrous and special alloy material ensuring the highest standards are maintained.

Purchasing/ sales. Active role in procuring new customer and supplier both local and national.

Man management. Responsible for managing workforce duties, time and workloads. Prioritising staff and work when needed whilst monitoring and controlling all work activities.

Staff training. Experienced in developing and mentoring new staff to conform to productive working practices in the workplace.

Resourcing. Took ownership of scouring equipment to enable best practice. Administration. Responsible for producing sorting reports from incoming material to enable

invoices to be raised and suppliers to be paid in a timely fashion. Progress meetings. Conduct monthly reviews to establish positive growth and resolve any

issues affecting progress and performance. Public relations. Visiting both suppliers and customers on an ongoing bases to better

2006 – 2007 Staffordshire County Council – Highways Department

Part of a local government based scheme to develop an understanding of the principles and practice of highway infrastructure asset management and maintenance.Playing an active role in the lifecycle management of a wide range of highways projects ranging in scale and value, from the initial concept through to completion.

Experience in gathering relevant data from various sources and site visits whilst undertaking and supervising inspections and assessments of highway assets.

Liaising with the local community to discuss upcoming contracts and developments and help alleviate any concerns.

Working under instruction from senior engineers to carry out work on projects including roadworks, tarmac surfacing, reinforced concrete work, drains, sewers and pipelines. Projects ranging from £2000 to £1.5 million.

1999 – 2002 Next LPC. Retail assistant.

Reporting to the floor manager, primarily responsible for promoting merchandise, store brand and developing strong customer relations for a positive experience.Duties included assisting customers with all retail purchases, processing transactions, driving sales to ensure targets are met.Ensuring an effective workflow of store operational activities whilst complying with company policies and procedures.
