Congratulations
George
A Message from the Relieving
Principal Congratulations to our School Captain nominees Chontal and
Mandy Costello and Albert Booth on delivering their speeches
last Wednesday. Despite being nervous, the three of them
prepared and delivered fabulous speeches worthy of a
leadership role. I was very proud of their efforts. We are
looking forward to announcing the exciting news of who will lead
our school in 2016 on Presentation Evening.
Our congratulations are also extended to George Hatty who
went off to Sydney to perform in the School Spectacular.
George had a very busy weekend and enjoyed his experience. It is wonderful to see
children from regional areas enjoy opportunities in our major cities and experience large
audiences at state of the art venues. Well done, George!
This week is the continuation of our Swim School Program. Please remember to pack
‘rashies’ and practice sun safety. We always take additional sunscreen for those that
may forget.
We started our rehearsals at the hall for Presentation Evening this week. A friendly
reminder to make sure you send in costumes.
Thank you to everyone who has sent in outstanding notes for the Year 6 Farewell and
Last Day of School Party. These dates are fast approaching and it makes the
organisation so much easier for all involved.
In closing this week I would like to wish our Year 6 students going to Narrandera High
for their Transition Days, good luck. This can be a time of mixed emotions for students
and some find the process of leaving a smaller school to a much larger school quite
daunting. I’m sure each of the students will have a fabulous day and enjoy meeting new
friends and maybe catch up with some old friends.
Have a healthy, happy week!

CHAPLAIN CHAT
This Advent issue of Faith Family reminds us , among all the commercial hype, of the true
meaning of and reason for Christmas celebrations. Does your family have an Advent
tradition similar to those mentioned? Or do you have a different activity to mark the days
leading up to the celebration of the birth of Jesus?
This time of year can bring with it many changes -- endings and beginnings -- in our lives
and in the lives of our family members, in one way or another. Whether these changes are
momentous or trivial, the effect of the situation depends on the attitude of each individual
person. Any particular event can be perceived by those involved in different ways. Each
person's reactions and coping skills vary. Therefore, I think that the article "From now
on....." on the back page of Faith Family provides very positive ways for the individual and
their family members to cope with change and to take us all "to a better place"!
May the peace, hope, joy and love of Christmas be with you and your families during this
time of Advent and into the future.

SCHOOL SPECTACULAR
Last week I had the experience of going to Sydney to perform in the School Spectacular
with the Riverina Central Choir. We left on the Tuesday at about 9.30am and got to
Sydney at about 4.30pm. When we got there we went to the Coogee Beach and swam in the
ocean. On Wednesday we got up at 6.30am to be at Newtown for a whole day practice,
which was a very long day. When we got back to our place where we were staying we went
down to Coogee for a swim. That night we had pizza for tea from Arthur’s Pizzas and went
to bed early. The next morning we got up at 5.00am to be at the Entertainment Centre
(Qantas Arena) because we had a full dress rehearsal. All day there were TV cameras
everywhere so you had to keep smiling because you never knew when the cameras were
videoing you! That night we got home at 7.30am. On Friday we performed twice, a matinee
and one at night. That night we got home at 1.00am. On the Sunday we went to Coogee with
Ted, Laura and Nanna then drove home. If you ever get the chance, TAKE IT!
Over all it was very tiring but fun!
