ASSIGNMENT 2. This assignment is worth 5% of your final mark.
Due THURSDAY, 28 MAY, 2015 at 4pm. READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS
CAREFULLY.
Extensions must be requested in advance but will only be given
in serious circumstances. Late submissions with no extension will
be penalized according to Uni policy.
Place completed assignments in the 1011SCG Maths 1a assignment
box in G09 (close to Eng office). If the assignment is submitted to
a wrong box (say 1012SCG), it will not be marked and points will be
lost. Only late submissions should be to the library, in this case
put my name (Yuri Anissimov) for a Course Convenor.
Answer questions neatly on A4 size paper. Start each new
question on a new
page. Your answers must be handwritten.
Please make sure your answers are legibly written and well set
out. Material that is not easily read will not be marked resulting
in points lost.
All pages must be numbered and SECURELY STAPLED together. Do not
submit your assignment in a plastic sleeve.
The presentation of your answers matters a lot - you must
explain your working
and you must use proper mathematical notation (as used in texts,
notes etc). Just writing an answer with no working is not enough.
Bad layout and notation will lose marks.
Complete the cover sheet on the other side of this page and
staple it as the FRONT page of your assignment. You must fill out
all the requested information. YOU WILL LOSE MARKS IF YOU DO NOT DO
THIS.
What is plagiarism ?
Plagiarism is when you copy someone elses answers. Even if you
make slight changes in symbols, it is still plagiarism. Plagiarism
is cheating and is wrong.
COPYING FROM THE INTERNET, FACEBOOK ETC. IS PLAGIARISM.
If plagiarism is detected, students involved will be penalized
according to Uni policy. It is a good idea to discuss problems with
other people. This is often a helpful thing to do. But you must
write up your answers by yourself.
