Wednesday Design your own school. Get creative and design your own school—could it be a Skateboarding School? A Unicorn School? A Cookery School or a Dragon School? Draw a bird’s eye view of what your school looks like from above. What will you have in each room?
Thursday Make a plan. Use the table on page 17 to jot down ideas about what your school is like and what it has to offer students. Use questions and alliteration to grab the reader.

Spelling
We are basing our weekly spelling tasks on Spelling Frame (Year 5/6).
Spelling Rule 47 - words containing silent letters
This week’s spelling list:
doubt, island, lamb, solemn, thistle, knight, limb, tomb, whistle, plumber, column
If you have access to the internet, you can practise these using the Spelling Frame games and activities:
Monday/Tuesday - Spelling Tiles: choose from these activities to help you to learn the spellings for this week.
Wednesday - Game: have a go at playing ‘Spelling Road Hopper’
Thursday - Practice: have a go at the ‘practice’ section - click on ‘practice/test’ and then ’begin practice’
Friday - Test: have a go at the test - click on ‘practice/test’ and then ‘begin test’. If you don’t get them all right,
perhaps have another go and see if you can beat your previous score.
To help you practise your spelling without using the internet, you could also:
• look through your books at home – collect as many words as you can that include this rule.
• use the above words to have a go at playing hangman with somebody at home.
• write a super sentence for each word, underline your spelling word.
• design a word search including all of the above spellings.
Enjoy your travels, Year 5. Don’t forget your passports! Have a great week, Mrs Alcock, Miss Lanagan, Mrs Ryan and Mrs Tang
Staying Active
Hello everyone! We hope you have had a fab week staying active in and outdoors. Torrential storms to brilliant
sunshine - we seem to have had it all! A number of you have mentioned new walks and biking routes that you
have explored - we always enjoy hearing about these! If you have any activities you’d like to share, let Mrs
Mosley or your teacher know so that we can share them with the school. Keep active and stay safe!
Notts School Games
This week’s sports theme is all about designing your
own sports day. Even though we have already had
our own whole school version, we thought we’d
share it with you anyway - there are plenty of good
ideas to have a go at. Click here and here to access
the resources.
