Dear prayer partners!
Loving greetings in the mighty name of our Master Trainer,
It is indeed a great joy and privilege to meet you through this 2nd
newsletter. The 6th January 2012 was a joyful day - our hearts were
filled with gratitude to the almighty God when our 27 new missionaries
successfully completed their training. They would be joining various mis-
sion fields as missionaries by 1st April 2012. We are very much grateful to

OTI Commencement Day
6, Jan 2012
My name is Merylist Kshiar. I was born in a Christian family. As a Christian I used to go to the Church and attended Sunday school, and youth meetings. So, I used to walk proudly. I did not understand and experi-ence the love of God in my life. But on a youth Sunday when I attended the service
in my own church, God spoke to me through John: 3:5 – 6 “unless you are born of water and the sprit you cannot enter the kingdom of God’. Through this verse I realized that I was a sin-ner, I need to be born again. On that day I surrendered myself and accepted Jesus Christ, as my personal Savior. After accepting Jesus Christ my heart was full of Joy and peace. Even though I faced many difficulties I felt that God is always with me so I started growing spiritually day by day. One day I was reading the Bible praying and mediating the word of God from the Book of Acts: 16:9. It says “Come over to Macedonia and help.”-through this verse God spoke to me that as a Christian I have to help the people especially those who are still in darkness. So I dedicated my life to God as a full time Mis-sionary. I am sure that God has called me to serve Him and bring the people from darkness into His marvelous light.

The Joy of Christmas
On the 4th of Decem-ber 2011 the missionaries from Head Office, Krish-nagiri field and Hosur to-gether with OTI family in one accord celebrated Christmas. We enjoyed the worship service in which Rev. P. John Wesley , the
General Secretary gave the Christmas message from Luke. 2:8-20, the First Christmas the shepherds cele-brated.
The service was followed by games for all age groups. and especially the one for the married cou-ples was a great fun. Then we had a fellowship Lunch. After lunch we had other programs like skit, choreography and songs, which made the day a grand celebration. -Arwan Roy

Prakash is a 13 year old boy studying in 8th standard from a private hostel. He sustained severe burnt injury while playing and was admitted in the nearby Government Hospital. He was taken to his home in Mudugurki vil-lage (10 kms from OTI) after 3 days. When we first met him along with Bro. Mahendran – our missionary in Berikai, he was lying inside his mosquito net, his wound uncleaned and heavily infected. It was a 2nd degree burn of his left buttock and left feet. As we visited daily cleaning up his wound and applying medication, the Lord speeded up his healing process and amazingly within a week the wound on the upper part got healed .The wound on his feet also is getting healed faster than we expected. Prakash comes from a broken family and he lives with his father and his younger brother Deepak at present. He loves the Lord and experienced that God’s love is greater than a mother’s love.
Please pray that he will be strengthened in his faith and his father will experience God’s salvation. -Chella E. Newton.

Commencement Day
Wycliffe India—Grammar Workshop
Friday the 6th of January 2012 was indeed a great be-
ginning for the 27 soldiers of the cross who started their
missionary journeys with a marching song “Stand up,
stand up for Jesus”. It was a very meaningful com-
mencement service chaired by our General Secretary
Rev. John Wesley. Rev. Jonathan Chavan, the HOD of
Human Resource Department welcomed the gather-
ing, the guest speaker Rt.Rev.Dr.M.Ezra Sargunam
(Bishop-President of ECI) and the guest of Honor
Dr.Sajan George (National President of GCIC). There
was a time of course reflection by Mr. Mathews P
Mathew , the director of OTI.
The guest of honour, Dr.Sajan George, in his address
appreciated the new missionaries for their daring step
and assured them of a helping hand during times of
persecution.
The guest speaker Rt.Rev.Dr.Ezra Sargunam gave his
commencement address on the basis of Luke’s Gospel,
chapter 14 verses from 15 through 24, urging the new
missionaries to go and invite people to the great ban-
quet. He insisted them to go out into the streets and
alleys of the towns, to the roads and country lanes and
bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame.
Though humorous, he pointed out the urgency and
seriousness of the task since today’s receptive groups
may not be receptive tomorrow.
Following that there was a time for trainees’ response.
Mr.Sukant Kar from Orissa, Mrs.Merylist from Meghalaya,
Mr s .An n a m m a Al e x a n d e r f r om K e r a l a ,
Mrs.Zamdonching from Mizoram, Mr. Gideon Rajadurai
from TamilNadu shared about their various experiences
in OTI.
The presentation of the candidates before the gather-
ing was done by Rev.Milton Robert, and certificates
and gifts were issued by Rev.John Wesley and Dr. Sajan
George respectively. The prayer of Consecration was
offered by the Bishop. The mentors, teachers, pastors
and senior missionaries prayed fervently for the new
missionaries, placing their hands on them.
The new missionaries gave a special number, beseech-
ing the Lord to make them instruments of His peace.
Mr. Paul Newton thanked the gathering .Following the
congregational hymn, the Commencement Service
came to an end with prayer and Benediction offered
by the Bishop. The commencement day program
ended with a delicious fellowship lunch.
Wycliffe India arranged grammar workshop for 3 language projects – Bagri (Rajasthan), Shekhawati (Rajasthan) and Jenu Kurumba (South India) at OTI, Ho-sur during 7 Jan – 6 Feb 2012. The senior linguistics consultants present for the workshop were Dr. Omana Sounderaraj (Bison Horn Madiya Bible Translator of IEM) who also led the grammar workshop and Dr. Thomas Payne (from SIL). Korwa Bible Translator Mr. Binzy (Wycliffe India) & Pawri Bible Translator Mr. Immanuel (FMPB), who are the linguistics consultants-in-training, were also present in the workshop.
"Here am I, send me; send me to the ends of the earth; send me to the rough, the savage pagans of the wilderness; send me from all that is called comfort on earth; send me even to death itself, if it be but in Thy service, and to promote Thy kingdom - David Brainerd
We thank the Lord for enabling us to complete the
training of the batch of 2011- Missionary Candidates
Course.
