What is MATHCOUNTS?What is MATHCOUNTS?• A national middle school coaching

and competitive mathematics program

• Promotes mathematics achievement through a series of fun and engaging "bee" style contests

• Exists in all 50 states, U.S. territories, Department of Defense and State Department schools

• Supported by the National Society of Professional Engineers at the state and local levels

President Obama Honors MATHCOUNTS National Finalists in Oval Office

WASHINGTON, D.C.— June 28, 2010 — For the tenth consecutive year, MATHCOUNTS (www.mathcounts.org) National Competition Champions were honored to receive congratulations from the President of the United States in the Oval Office. President Barack Obama greeted the top finishers in the 2010 Raytheon MATHCOUNTS National Competition, including the individual champion and coach, runner-up and coach, and first place California state team and coach in an Oval Office ceremony on June 28, 2010.
