MATH SKILLS STUDY TIPSFor additional study information go to:

ATTEND ALL CLASSES!!!
Each class builds on the previous ones.
This is the most important study skill to ensure that you keep up with the instructor.
KEEP UP WITH ASSIGNMENTS
The only way to learn math is by doing it.
Attend class, read the text and do homework every day.
Falling behind can put you in deep trouble.
You can’t cram for math!!
BEGIN PREPARATION EARLY
Studying in smaller blocks of time each day for a week before a test will be more beneficial than studying for several hours the day before.
Again, you can’t cram for math!!
LIST MAJOR CONCEPTS AND FORMULAS
Review your notes and text to determine what topics or problems are emphasized.
List problems stressed by the instructor, definitions, terms, diagrams and graphs, and formulas.
REVIEW HOMEWORK PROBLEMS
Rework problems including examples, homework, review problems and chapter tests.
Note why procedures applied.
ASK SPECIFIC QUESTIONS
Since you have started studying early, you will have time to ask questions.
Write down specific questions about any concepts or problems that are unclear.
THE DAY OF THE TEST
Get a good night’s sleep.
A quick review of the material before the test should be a summary only.
Arrive early so you can be relaxed.
