Collier County Sheriff’s Office Immokalee Middle School Youth Relations Deputy My name is Cpl. Solomon, I have been employed with the Collier County Sheriff’s Office for twelve years. I started my career as a corrections deputy, where I worked in Naples and Immokalee jail centers. I then attended a law enforcement academy and became a certified law enforcement officer. After seven years as a corrections officer I moved to road patrol and worked in Golden Gate as a nighttime patrol officer. I transferred to Youth Relations as the Immokalee Middle School Youth Relations Deputy. I started at the Sheriff's Office with only a high school diploma. Since then I have earned an Associate in Criminal Justice, Bachelor in Public Safety Administration, and a Master in Administration. I look forward to this new journey and hope to make a difference in the lives of the students I interact with. All students are welcome to complete a science fair project, although for Cambridge and Advanced students, it is a course requirement. Our school science fair will be held in November and the highest scoring projects will then have the privilege to compete in the CCPS Regional Science Fair. See your science teacher for more information. This year, we will have opportunities for parents to accompany students on science field trips. Please fill out the parent volunteer form online or see Ms. Claudia Medina in the front office at your convenience. We would love to have some special guests on our field trips with our students! Fall Sports The Indians are looking forward to get the athletic year started with huge success. Our fall sports programs will lead the way with Boys & Girls Cross Country, and Boys & Girls Volleyball. Practices are held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays after school and transportation is provided. Volleyball games will be on Saturdays at Cypress Palm Middle School. All Cross Country meets will be held at different locations throughout Collier. Come out and support your tribe, the Indians of Immokalee of Middle School! Fluency Expectaons for Grades 68 include: 6th: Fluently dividing mul-digit numbers using the standard algorithm (this provides built-in pracce with most operaons). 7th: Fluently adding, subtracng, mulplying, and dividing raonal numbers (ask your student what types are numbers are considered raonal). 8th: Fluently recall formulas for area & volume of quadrilaterals, triangles and circles to solve problems involving volumes of cones, cylinders, and spheres. Eighth grade is the first me student will not have ANY formulas provided for their FSA exam with only SOME formulas provided in context for the Algebra EOC exam. Im Ryan Nemeth, the Principal of Immokalee Middle School. I relocated to Florida from upstate New York aſter I graduated from Siena College, in Albany. This school year marks my 18 th year in Collier County. I have worked as a 6 th , 7 th , and 8 th grade social studies teacher, Dean of Students, Assistant Principal, and Principal. I love sports, especially baseball. I am an avid runner, love to travel, and enjoy spending me with my family and friends. I cant think of a beer level in which to work than middle school. The ever-constant changing world of adolescents keeps my job excing, and always creates something new each day. Watching the students grow from elementary students entering 6 th grade and leaving us as high school students when they complete 8 th grade is very rewarding. I truly feel that adults in middle school have the greatest impact on the path students will take as they progress into high school and beyond.     Soy el Cabo Solomon y llevo 10 años trabajando por el Departamento del Sheriff del Condado de Collier. Comencé mi carrera como agente penitenciario, trabajé en las cárceles de Naples e Immokalee. Luego estudié en la academia policiaca y obtuve mi certificado de policía. Después de servir como agente policiaco me trasladé a la patrulla de tráfico y trabajé en Golden Gate con la patrulla nocturna. Me cambié al Departamento de Relaciones Juveniles en la Escuela Intermediaria de Immokalee. Cuando empecé a trabajar con el Departamento del Sheriff únicamente tenía mi diploma de escuela superior. Desde entonces obtuve mi titulo de asociado en Justicia Penal, mi licenciatura en

    Administración de Seguridad Pública y mi Maestría en Administración. Me alegra mucho de tener la posibilidad de emprender este nuevo camino en mi carrera y deseo contribuir algo importante en las vidas de los niños con quienes interactúo.

    Deportes de Otoño Los equipos atléticos de los indios desean que el año atlético arranque con gran éxito. Nuestros deportes de otoño comenzaran con lo equipos de carreras de campo y voleibol varonil y femenino. Las prácticas se llevan a cabo el martes, miércoles y jueves después de clases y se provee transporte. Las competencias de voleibol serán el sábado en Cypress Palm Middle School. Todas las carreras de campo tomaran lugar en diferentes lugares en Collier. Ven y apoya a tu tribu, los indios de Immokalee de la escuela intermedia!     Rincón de Matemáticas Ayude a su niño a lograr las expectativas de fluidez para datos de matemática, proporcionando tiempo para la práctica con las destrezas básicas. Las expectativas de fluidez para los grados de 6 a 8 incluyen:

    Soy Ryan Nemeth, director de la Escuela Intermedia de Immokalee. Me traslade a la Florida de Nueva York, luego de graduarme de Siena College, en Albany. Este año escolar marca mi décimo octavo ano en el Condado de Collier. He trabajado como profesor de estudios sociales de 6º, 7º y 8º grado, Decano de Estudiantes, vice director y Director de Escuela. Me encantan los deportes, especialmente el béisbol. Soy corredor ávido, amo viajar, y disfruto pasando el tiempo con mi familia y amistades. No me imagino ningún otro nivel en que trabajar que sea mejor que el de escuela intermedia. El cambio constante del mundo del adolescente hace que mi trabajo sea emocionante, cada día nos presenta algo nuevo. Es muy gratificante ver a los alumnos crecer desde estudiantes de primaria entrando al 6 º grado hasta el momento de dejarnos como estudiantes de secundaria al completar 8 º grado. Verdaderamente siento que el personal docente de escuela intermedia influyen más en el camino que tomarán sus estudiantes a la larga de la escuela secundaria y más allá de esta.
