He painted objects like flags, targets, maps, and numbers. These paintings were not meant to show Johns’ opinions, but were made to show objects we see everyday in a different context. Today, we will be making a painting similar to Jasper Johns’ paint- ing, 0-9, which was painted in 1960. • Cardboard (2 sheets) • Scissors • Glue • Pencil • Sponge • Acrylic paint (Red, yellow, blue) • Paper plate • Blow dryer On one sheet of card- board, use your pencil to draw out the numbers 0 to 9. Glue onto numbers onto your second sheet of cardboard. Use red paint and create large strokes on various areas on your cardboard numbers. Blow dry your painting. Carefully cut out your numbers. Pour out paint onto your plate. Repeat Step 4 with the yellow paint, then the blue. Continue in any order until the cardboard surface is covered. 0-9 (1960) by Jasper Johns

Jasper Johns nació en Georgia en 1930. Aunque él nunca tomo lecciones formal de arte él sabía que quería ser un artista desde muy pequeño. Johns pintaba objetos que eran fácil de reconocer, como banderas, mapas, y números. Estas pinturas no eran destinadas para mostrar opiniones de John pero eran hecho para mostrar objetos que nosotros miramos cada día en diferentes contextos. Hoy, vamos a hacer una pintura similar a 0-9 de Jasper Johns que pinto en 1960.

• 2 hojas de cart cartón• Tijeras• Pegamento• Lápiz• Esponja• Pintura acrílica (rojo, azul, y amarillo)• Plato de papel• Secadora de cabello

En una hoja de cartón use su lápiz para dibujar los números 0 a 9.

Pegue los números sobre su segundo hoja de cartón .

Use pintura roja y cree grandes trazos en áreas en sus números. Seca su pintura con la secadora de cabello.

Cuidadosamente recorte sus números.

Pon su pintura en su plato.

Repite Paso 4 con la pintura amarilla y luego el azul. Siga en cualquier orden hasta que la cartón esta llena.
