The supply and delivery of aggregate and quarried materials is another area in which Blockade Services has expertise.

Although we strive to supply recycled materials where possible, we recognise our clients’ have a need for these products and can supply to your projects at affordable prices with product specification sheets supplied upon request. Blockade prides itself on the quality of our own quarried materials which we process using the latest crushing and screening equipment. We monitor production constantly, guaranteeing our products are to the highest standards. At most times throughout the year, we hold several thousand tonnes of these materials in stock allowing us to cope with any sized project.

1.1 PRIME FILL

Prime Fill is excavated at our West Hoathly quarry. The material is then crushed through our Jaw Crusher and then through our Screening Plant for sizing. We offer several different sizes of this material which is used in many applications. Our Prime Fill is used by many different councils for their projects in Surrey and Sussex.

Our Ironstone is excavated and processed using our own Crushers and Screeners.

The rock its self is dark in colour and very hard. Ironstone is crushed down to 75mm through our Jaw Crusher and is then screened to take out the sand fines below 5mm. The material is very clean and fines free.

1.3 SAND

All of our sands are produced and dug from our facilities in the South East. Our Reject Sand is screened from our rock producing process. This material is 10mm down and light in colour. Our Building Sand can be supplied light, dark and O sand. This material is screened to 5mm down and is a consistent colour. Giving out clients the assurance that their sands won’t vary in colour throughout their project. Our Silica Sand is pure white and is 97% Silica. This is excavated from below the Prime Fill rock in our West Hoathly quarry.

All of our sands are subject to stringent testing.

1.4 certified (clay as dug)

We operate two quarries within the company, both sites generate virgin Clay within their processes. This material is excavated and stock pilled allowing us to get to the rock bellow.

All our Clays are subject to stringent testing and ideal for pong lining, fill materials and landfill cell construction. We hold in excess of 700000 m3 of material in stock between our sites.

Here at Blockade Services we recycle 70% of waste we produce within our company.

All concrete, hardcore, tarmac plainings and stone generated from our projects are transported back to our recycling facilities where they undergo a recycling process under the WRAP protocol. All material is segregated in the product areas where they are then crushed and screened using the latest plant available. All materials produced are fully certified with periodic testing carried out.

Here at Blockade we pride ourselves on the quality of our recycled materials and constantly look for better processes in which to produce our products. At most times of the year we hold several thousands of tonnes of materials in stock allowing us to cope with our customers’ demands.

All of our materials are then delivered to sites in the South East using our own fleet of Tipper.

2.1 crushed concrete

All concrete breakout from our demolition works are transported to our Crushing facility where we process the waste concrete though our jaw crusher. This material is crushed to 40mm down or 75mm down depending on the material needed.To process the 6F5 material we put the 75mm down crushed concrete through our Screener where all fines bellow 10mm are removed to give us 6F5. The 10mm down material is then sold as Crusher fines. All of our recycled concrete is produced to the WRAP protocol.

2.2 TYPE 4 Asphalt arisings unboard mixture

Screened Tarmac Planings 40mm Down.

CERIFIED BSE10 933/1 & BS1377-2.

Common Uses:- Road Construction.- Sub Base.- Fill Materials.

Our Type 4 is produced from tarmac planings. Blockade is one of the leading planings removal companies in the South East. We supply our tipper 7 nights a week to tarmac Lafarge where we remove road plainings from their projects. These planings are transported back to our depot where we screen the material through our screening plant removing all material above 40mm.

The over size is crushed and the 40mm down material is sold as a Type 4 Asphalt Arising Unbound mixture.This material is used for road construction, Sub Base and a fill material. All of our other Type 4 is produced to the WRAP protocol.


2.3 SCREENED TOP SOIL

All of our grades of Top Soil are produced using our own plant. We offer a wide range of soils from a recycled Top Soil which is sold uncertified which is used for non-housing developments. Our BS38822007 range is a blend of soil and conditioner. This material is screened to 10mm and used for schools, housing and parks. We also produce a virgin Sub Soil from our quarry which is BS8601/2013. This material is screened to 10mm and used by our customers for turfing, fill and landscaping.

Our Reject Shingles/Stone is produced through our screening process. All stone is sized 40mm down to 10mm. This material is used for mainly drainage applications or certain fill projects.
