SECTION 4 - FIRST-AID MEASURES
General advice
Take off all contaminated clothing immediately. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Remove from exposure, lie down. In the case of accident or if you feel unwell, seek medical advice immediately (show the label where possible).
Inhalation Remove to fresh air. Get medical attention if symptoms occur.
Skin contact Wash off immediately with soap and plenty of water. Get medical attention if symptoms occur.
Eye contact In the case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. Get medical attention if irritation persists.
Ingestion
Clean mouth with water and drink afterwards plenty of water. If a person vomits when Iying on his back, place him in the recovery position. Do not induce vomiting. If swallowed, seek medical advice immediately and show this container or label.
SECTION 5 - FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES
Suitable extinguishing media
Use water spray, alcohol-resistant foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide.
Hazardous decomposition / combustion products
CO2, Carbon monoxide. Acetylacetone, Mixture of aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbon solvents.
Extinguishing media which shall not be used for safety reasons
High volume water jet.
Specific hazards during fire fighting
Cool closed containers exposed to fire with water spray. Do not allow run-off from fire fighting to enter drains or water courses.
Special protective equipment for fire-fighters
Use personal protective equipment.
Further information Evacuate all non-essential personnel. Extinguish a small fire with powder or carbon dioxide then apply water to prevent re-ignition. Cool closed containers with water. Fire residues and contaminated with local regulations. After a fire, ventilate thoroughly the area and soak with water, clean the walls and metallic surfaces. In case of fire and/or explosion do not breathe fumes.
SECTION 6 - ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
Personal precautions
Wear respiratory protection. Wear personal protective equipment.
Environmental precautions
Avoid subsoil penetration. Do not allow material to contaminate ground water system. Do not contaminate water. If the product contaminates rivers and lakes or drains inform respective authorities.
Do not let product enter drains.
Methods for cleaning up
Remove mechanically and with care (e.g. with clean polyethylene plastic shovel). Contain and collect spillage with non-combustible absorbent material,(e.g. sand, diatomaceous earth, vermiculite) and place in container for disposal according to local/ national regulations.
SECTION 7 - HANDLING AND STORAGE
HANDLING Advice on safe handling
Never weigh out in the storage room. When using do not eat, drink or smoke. Do not breathe fumes/vapor. Handle in well ventilated areas. For personal protection see section 8.
Fire and explosion prevention Use explosion protected equipment. Keep away from sources of ignition - No smoking. Use non-sparking tools in areas where explosive vapor air mixtures may occur.
STORAGE Requirements for storage areas and containers Further information on storage conditions Advice on common storage
Electrical installations/working materials must comply with the technical safety standards. Containers which are opened must be carefully resealed and kept upright to prevent leakage. Keep container tightly closed. No smoking. Avoid impurities (e.g. rust, dust, ash), risk of decomposition. Store apart from other dangerous and incompatible substances.
