How to get to the Rapid Injury Clinic From northside of Liffey From northside, drive/walk down Phibsborough Road towards Kings Inn on Constitution Hill. Arriving onto North King Street, turn right and take the third left onto Queen Street. Access to the Rapid Injury Clinic underground car park is on your left. From southside of Liffey From Rathmines, drive/walk down Camden Street onto Aungier Street and onto South Great George’s Street, taking a left when you reach Dame Street. Keep going until you come to the second right (Bridge Street) and cross over the bridge onto Church Street, turning left when you reach North King Street. The Rapid Injury Clinic is on your left with car parking to the front and back of the building. By Luas Disembark at the RED line Smithfield stop. Walk towards the Smithfield Square market. The clinic has direct access to x-ray and laboratory tests and we provide a full range of urgent care services, for example; suturing, application of plaster of paris and minor surgical procedures. The Mater Smithfield Rapid Injury Clinic offers assessment and treatment to any-one who has sustained an injury. The clinic has direct access to x-ray and laboratory tests and we pro-vide a full range of urgent care services, for example; suturing, application of plas-ter of paris and minor surgical procedures. We have direct access to all hospital serv-ices as the clinic is under the care of the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital.

How do you access the clinic?

Walk In

Patients can access the clinic directly without referral from a medical practitioner.

You may be referred to the clinic by:

What conditions do we treat?

Minor Head/Facial Injury

• Facial trauma• Lacerations to face and head • Ear trauma• Nasal trauma

Upper Limb Injury

• Shoulder injury• Collar bone injury • Upper arm/elbow and forearm injury• Wrist/hand/thumb fractures, dislocations, soft tissue injuries and tendon injuries

Lower Limb Injuries

• Leg/knee/ankle/foot injuries• Muscle strains and aches • Fractures/dislocations• Foot pain

Wounds

• Cuts/lacerations/skin tears• Burns• Animal/insect bites• Acute skin infections

What conditions do we not treat?

• Children under 16 years of age• Pregnancy related conditions• Psychiatric conditions• Extremely ill patients who have collapsed or require hospital admission• Cardiac conditions• Serious medical/trauma cases• Any person with an altered level of consciousness

Health Insurers may cover part or all of the above charges
