Be a better trial lawyer.Learn from the MASTERS.

ProgramThe ABOTA Foundation is dedicated to training the next generation of lawyers to meet the highest standards of professionalism and advocacy in the practice of law. The Masters in Trial® program demonstrates the skills and techniques that the nation’s leading trial advocates use in voir dire, opening statements, direct and cross-examination and closing arguments.

See how these techniques translate in live jury deliberations, then use the panel discussions to take your own trial skills to the next level.

Attend the program live in Columbia, or view it remotely at the following locations:

This program qualifies for 7.25 MCLE credit hours.

CaseThe fact pattern is based on a real case involving an accidental shooting of a minor child, during what was mistakenly believed to be a home invasion in progress. It raises issues relating to civil immunity under South Carolina’s “Castle Doctrine,” firearm safety, products liability, premises liability and imputed comparative fault. The fact pattern is emotionally charged and well balanced, providing an ideal vehicle for compelling advocacy and observation of juror group dynamics.
