Selecting the Right EquipmentA peristaltic pump uses positive displacement to transfer fluids within a flexible tube fitted inside a circular casing. A rotor (with a number of rollers attached) compresses the tube and as the rotor turns, the part of the tube under compression is pinched closed forcing the fluid to be pumped through the tube - this is known as ‘occlusion’.

This brochure contains an overview of the extensive range of Masterflex peristaltic pump systems.

To ensure you select the right equipment for your particular needs, follow these steps as a guide:

All Masterflex pumps conform to either ISO 9001:2008 or ISO 9001:2000 standards

To ensure you select the right peristaltic pumping system for your needs or for servicing your equipment, simply contact John Morris Scientific for professional advice.

Combine low flow & compact size into a single pump

Fixed & variable speed with high-accuracy

Powerful & better protection from dust & water

Heavy duty & ideal in manufacturing

With a desired 900 mL/min flow rate, we have a choice of L/S or I/P Pump Series - we select L/S Series as it is the most popular & designed for lab use

We choose Acetone which, based on the Tubing Type table, offers CD (Chem-Durance Bio) or PFL (Gore Style 500) tubing formulation - we select CD tubing because it has a longer life & lower price

Pump Drive

Based on L/S Series, we select Economy Console Pump Drive (600 rpm) as it satisfies flow rate, choice of variable speeds & is cheaper than I/P

As CD tubing formulation offers Easy Load or Easy Load II Pump Heads, we select Easy Load II as it has adjustable occlusion models

We select L/S 17 as it meets our flow rate requirements
