VIII FIAPMSE AKADEMIE will be held next August ‘11.

The meeting has been created in order to make easy an

appointment for young students coming from all over the

world. It is a place where professors, students, artists and

public gather around Music, Luthery and Fine Arts so

as to develop a cultural and artistic exchange through

concerts, exhibitions and masterclasses.

Masterclasses and Seminars are intended for high grade music students, postgraduates and teachers. There are some available options to attend as an Active or Listener student and also as an established chamber music group that can take lessons from one or several teachers. It is compulsory to be eighteen years old reached before the beginning of the FIAPMSE AKADEMIE. The number of active students is limited.

The registration form and accommodation request (in that case), along with a Curriculum Vitae and a copy of Identity Card or Passport have to be send to: CONCERTO MÁLAGA, FORUM INTERNACIONAL DE ALTO PERFECCIONAMIENTO MUSICAL DEL SUR DE EUROPA - C/ Sevilla, 31 - 1º 2, 29009 Málaga - España, before July, 8th 2012. And the payment of a Registration fee, not refundable, even discounted of the teaching services fees, both listeners and actives.The registration fee must show the student’s name and the course in which the participant wants to be registered.

Pupils will be informed of the participants’ selection before July, 15th by the Organization.

Application FIAPMSE - AKADEMIE 59 €

Should the participants want to be registered in both kinds or take lessons from several professors, must have the FIAMPSE coordinator know. Fees are to be paid at the beginning of the course.

Forum participants can apply for accommodation, specified previously at Accommodation Request section, at rural and nice apartments of andalusian air, in double and triple rooms. These types of self-catering accommodation have a well-equipped kitchen with cooker, fridge-freezer and micro-wave as standard, shared between 4-5 people.Likewise, the organization will provide information about restaurant services available in the area..

Accommodation of students, who belong to MASTERCLASS kind, is opened from August, 9th at 12:00, to the leaving on August, 17th at 12:00. Organization will not take charge of any accommodation request out of the offered kind.

Once the confirmation of assistance to the FIAPMSE AKADEMIE is made, accommodation fees have to be paid between July, 18th and July, 20th 2012. The payment has to be realized in the bank account mentioned before. Accommodation request will not be accepted until the payment of the fee is made.

ACCOMMODATION

MASTERCLASS participants will have to arrive to the secretary of the course, placed in Nigüelas Cultural Centre on August, 9th from 12:00 to 14:30. Then, register procedure, accommodation and schedules delivery will be formalized.

Active students will receive a stage certificate at the end of the course, issued by the Organization and the City Council that testifies to attendance. Likewise, the Organization takes the final decision on the election of the best FIAPMSE participant who will be awarded the “Merit and Honour Diploma”.

By the grace and patronage of Concerto Málaga, a range of scholarships will be conceded to students selected by the Organization which include the payment of the accommodation fees. The “Merit and Honour Diploma” involve an invitation that entitles the winner to play in a concert at the following edition of FIAPMSE.

HOW TO GET

Nigüelas is located next to the A-44 road between Granada and Motril. It is about 30 kilometres from Granada and 40 km from Motril.

From Málaga International AirportTake the number 19 bus (it runs every half hour) to Málaga bus station or train line C1 (Cercanías RENFE), the train station is opposite Terminal 3. Once there, you have a bus company called Alsina Graells, which covers the routes for Málaga - Granada, take bus number 730. Departures are every hour from 7am through to 9pm.

Granada to NigüelasThere is a bus service of Alsina Graells Co. at the Conference Hall at Paseo del Violón St., covering the Granada-Nigüelas route.

From Granada International AirportTake a taxi or a bus to the Conference Hall at Paseo del Violón St., and once there, take a bus to Nigüelas.

MASSIMO PARISViola y música de CámaraBorn in Rome, he is qualified in Viola, Composition and Orchestral Conducting by the ‘Santa Cecilia’ Conservatoire of Rome. Renowned viola and viola d’amore soloist, he has performed at the world’s greatest halls: La Scala (Milan), the

Carnegie Hall, Avery Fisher Hall (New York), the Berlin Philarmonie, the Sidney Opera House, the Concertgebouw (Amsterdam) and the Paris Opera. He has been part of ‘I Virtuosi di Roma’ and has been viola soloist of the famous ensemble ‘I Musici’ since 1978. He holds a Chair of Viola at the prestigious Santa Cecilia National Conservatoire of Rome (postgraduate) and at the Musikhoschule of Cologne-Aachen. He also leads Improvement Courses all over the world. He has made recordings for the main radio and TV broadcasting companies in Europe, Australia and the USA; and also for the record companies Philips, Denon, Columbia and Claves. He is founder member of the ‘Stradivari Quartet’ and plays a P. Guarnieri viola dated 1697.

MASTERCLASS

MICHAEL WOLFDOUBLEBASSMichael Wolf is professor for doublebass at the Berlin University of the Arts. He was born in New Jersey, U.S.A., and began studying the doublebass at the age of nine. When he was thirteen years old, he made his first television appearance as a

soloist. He completed his first degree with honors in the biological sciences at the University of Southern Califor-nia, where he worked and published in the field of cancer research (see below).Afterwards, he studied music with Nathaniel Gangursky and became a member of the San Diego Symphony Orchestra. He received a Fulbright/DAAD and a Rotary-International scholarship, which brought him to Germany. Before he assumed his position in Berlin, he held a profes-sorship for doublebass on the University of Mainz. His publications include a doublebass method. His radio and solo recordings as well as his concert appearances and masterclasses both domestically and abroad have consistently received the highest critical acclaim.

ASOCIACIÓN ESPAÑOLA DEGRUPOS INSTRUMENTALESY VOCALES ESPECIALIZADOS

Founded in 1996, this thirteen-piece ensemble from southern Spain is composed of chamber musicians from all around the world. The orchestra of Concerto Malaga is much acclaimed for its interpretations of Spanish music, and has toured successfully throughout Europe. The ensemble maintains artistic collaboration with renowned international soloists, such as guitarist Pepe Romero, violinist Mariana Sirbu, flamenco guitarist Juan Martin, flautist Massimo Mercelli, pianist María Luisa Cantos and Los Romero Guitar Quartet.

The Orchestra is sponsored by Malaga City Council and has worked with cultural institutions such as UNESCO, Jeunesses Musicales International and the Spanish Ministry of Culture. It is also an active member of the European Chamber Music Teachers Association ECMTA and has captivated audiences in Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Croatia, the UK and Ireland, performing at venues such as the Berlin Philharmonie, Laeiszhalle Hamburg, Philharmonie Essen, the Euriade and Zadar Festivals, the Royal Basilica of San Lorenzo de El Escorial and the Royal Palace El Pardo. Future engagements will see Concerto Malaga performing on a tour of more than twenty concerts across the USA, appearing in all the main cities such as San Francisco, Detroit, Philadelphia and New York.

In 2008 Concerto Malaga was named “Orchestra in Residence” in County Donegal, Ireland. The ensemble remains active in this region and has an ongoing educational-performance project in the Northwest of Ireland working with different cultural institutions. Annually, the orchestra offers a season of concerts in the capital of the Costa de Sol and is resident orchestra of the FIAMPSE (ForumInternacional de Alto Perfeccionamiento Musical del Sur de Europa).

Artistic Director and Conductor, Maestro Massimo Paris, is a celebrated soloist of viola and viola d'amore as well as being an outstanding composer, conductor, chamber musician, recording artist and pedagogue.

Concerto Málaga has recorded for TVE, the Spanish National Television station, and has released two CDs to date: one rediscovering Spanish Music Homenaje a Albéniz (2009) on the Genuine Classics label and an album entitled Christmas with Los Romero (2011) recorded on Deustche Grammophon.
