In yet another twist to the hugely popular Channel 10 reality series, 11 of the previously eliminated contestants returned to the MasterChef kitchen in the hopes of cooking their way back into the show. After completing a series of culinary challenges six of the evictees Philip Vakos, Courtney Roulston, Jake Bujayer, Peter Kritikides, Jimmy Seervai and Devon Headland were chosen to battle for one of three places up for grabs tonight. A notable absentee from the returning contestants was Joanne Zalm, eliminated in London last week. Winton-Burn and the six other finalists were initially shell-shocked to see their dreams of being crowned the next Australian MasterChef become a little harder to reach with the return of their past rivals. ‘‘But if I had been eliminated I would have given my right arm, my left arm and both my legs to get back into it. So I understand and (they’ve been welcomed back with) open arms,’’ she said. This is really helping me out’. ‘‘One of my friends said his sex life has never been better! They’ve just taken it as gospel.’’ Mysteriously Kwanten says his book will appeal to all women and men, but Wall Street guys in particular. ‘‘Predominantly with men, it’s more the finance- type world,’’ he explained to Us magazine.
