Faculty Mentor Spotlight

Professor Latham works with her students to help them develop the intellectual skills necessary to make a difference in the world and become creative, innovative, and complex problem solvers. She has published in the Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders and the Encyclopedia of Autism Spectrum Disorders. She has also delivered multiple scholarly papers and lectures at conferences and conventions across the country and has extensive experience practicing in the field.

Application Requirements

New cohorts begin each fall semester. Saint Mary’s College uses the Communication Sciences and Disorders Central Application Service (CSDCAS). To apply, visit grad.saintmarys.edu/admission-aid/apply.

Requirements include:

• Graduation from a regionally accredited undergraduate institution; the most competitive candidates will have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA in undergraduate coursework

• Successful completion of an undergraduate communication sciences and disorders major or completion of the following prerequisites:

• Introduction to Communicative Disorders

• Anatomy & Physiology of the Speech and Hearing Mechanism

• Phonetics

• Speech & Hearing Sciences

• Language Development

• Introduction to Audiology

• Clinical Methods and Supervised Observation

• Statistics

• At least one course in the biological sciences, e.g., Introduction to Biology

• At least one course in the physical sciences, e.g., Introduction to Physics, Acoustics, etc.

• At least one course in the behavioral sciences, e.g., Developmental Psychology

• Official transcripts from every college or university attended

• GRE scores (Please use 6970, our school code for this program, when requesting your scores.)

• Three letters of recommendation

• A brief admission video submitted through the questions section of the CSDCAS application

• Personal statement

Cost

A graduate degree is an investment in your future. We know that can make navigating the financial aspects of it overwhelming. To make sure you reach your goals, we will help you identify various funding sources, analyze repayment options, and provide you with the tools you need to establish a budget and estimate costs.

The program cost for the fall 2015 entering class is $50,385 ($10,077 per semester), which includes clinical and graduate student fees and a one-time Calipso speech language pathology software fee. The cost for the fall 2016 entering class will be updated in the spring. Your tuition will not increase during your time in the program as long as you remain part of your entering cohort.
