Master of Arts Program in Managerial Economics

M.A. (Managerial Economics)

The master’s degree is designed for students who expect to pursue a

managerial career in business or government sector. This two-year

program provides economics skills and competencies necessary for

the management challenges of increasing complexity in a modern

economy. The program also provides the course of foundation

economics for the students who are not prior bachelor’s in economics.

The compulsory courses compose of Quantitative Analysis for

Management, Applied Microeconomics for Management, Applied

Macroeconomics for Management, Research Methodology in

Economics, Applied Managerial Economics, Strategic Economics,

and Seminars in Current Economic Issues.

The alternative courses include Economics of Project Analysis and

Evaluation, Economics of Financial Management, Economics of

Logistics Management, Analysis of Policy and Economic

Environment, Information Technology and Innovation for Economist,

Game Theory for Business Management, Economics of Organization

EC 510 *Fundamental Economics

To study on macroeconomic theory including theory of Demand, Supply and Market Structures and Market failure. To study on fundamental of macroeconomic and the fundamental of Mathematics and Statistics for Economic Analytic.

EC 511 Quantitative Analysis for Management

Study econometric models and estimation of economic models, interpret and analyze the estimated result of economic models. The topics also include learning case studies related to economic models by applying quantitative analysis for the organization management.

EC 512 Applied Microeconomics for Management

To study on Microeconomic theory regarding to Consumer Behavior, Producer Behavior, Cost of Production, Price Theory and the Demand and Supply of Input Factors. And also study on Market Structure, Social Welfare, Market failure and Moreover to study on how to applied Microeconomics theory for Business Management.

EC 513 Applied Macroeconomics for Management

The course provides the student the concept of a macroeconomic revolution including Classical macroeconomics, the Keynesian system, New Classical Economic, real business cycle and the New Keynesian economic. General equilibrium, economic growth model, the sustainable in consumption and investment are also provided in this course including the analysis of the case study in current economic policy, monetary and fiscal policy in the open economy.

EC 521 Research Methodology in Economics

Study the principles of research approach, the processes and methods both of quantitative and qualitative research. In additional, preparing the proposal by review the relevant literature, design and development of research tools. Study data types and data manipulation. Finally, writing abstracts and write the articles to publish in academic journals.

EC 531 Applied Managerial Economics

To study on managerial economic theory and applied for organization management. To enhancing economic efficiency and equality for economic and social activities. And also study in the case study of the best practice for Corporate Social Responsibility in private sectors for transparency organization both government and private organizations. Moreover to study on how to manage in both government and paradigm.

EC 532 Strategic Economics

Studying economic concepts related to strategic management, corporate strategy, operational strategy and leadership along with implementing the strategy. Comparing the strategic management between public and private organizations. Analyzing case studies as well as risk management processes and organizational crisis.

Seminars and analyzes in contemporary management economics to provide the specific knowledge in term of Sufficiency Economy, Community economy, Creative economy Digital economy and Including related political issues.

EC 631 Economics of Project Analysis and Evaluation

A study of the concepts and issues related to the planning and evaluation of projects, including the features, specifications, and codes of conduct of the project. Analysis and project preparation. Techniques of planning and evaluation of projects. The synthetic study in evaluating projects both public and private sectors.

EC 632 Economics of Financial Management

A study of the management of monetary and fiscal policies, various techniques of financial management, economic factors which affect decision-making, financial statement analysis, some issues, with problem solving, of financial management in both public and private sectors.

Study logistics and supply chain systems in production, distribution, economic theory related to logistics and supply chain system, analysis and planning on logistics and supply chain systems, domestic and international management in both the public and private sectors.

EC 634 Analysis of Policy and Economic Environment

Analysis of the role of government in the economy. The economic policy of the state. Analyzes the impact of policy measures to the business sector. Study social welfare and the role of the private sector in formulating policies and economic measures.

EC 635 Information Technology and Innovation for

Economist Systematic studying processes, definitions, planning,

management of information technology and organizational innovation. Analyzing the needs of information technology and innovation. Studying case studies to improve the organizations' management processes in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

Studying game theory which used in business decision making. Applying game theory to define business strategy. Pricing of goods and services including investment and business competition.

EC 637 Economics of Organization and Human Resources

Management

Study the concepts and theories of organizational management, human capital investment, education and training, health and labor mobility, and human resource management in public and private organizations. In additional, consideration of the manpower planning, selection and recruitment, compensation and welfare, labor relations, evaluation of work. Finally, design the organizing information systems and human resource management strategies to keep pace with global change.

Analyzing the paradigms of economic development theory as well as the evolutions and facts about the inequalities. Studying structural changes in the trading system, investment and financial system, the effects of technology changes on industries, agricultural and service sectors. Synthesizing responses of the changes in globalization to develop sustainability.

EC 639 Economic of International Trade and Financial

Management

A study of international trade, international finance, and its

applications to economic policies, with attention to the balance of

payments, adjustment of the balance of payments, relationship

between international trade and economic growth and development,

international investments and multinational corporations, effects of

exchange rate changes, and international trade and finance policies.

Doctor of Philosophy Program in Economics

Ph.D. (Economics)

The Ph.D Program in Economics provides students with the

theorytical and empirical tools comprehend assess and analyze the

many pressing issues and problems of society in an economic context.

Areas of study include basic for the first year level in mathematical

economics (non-credit) and advanced economic subjects such as

advanced microeconomics,advanced macroeconomics,advanced

econometrics as well as the research methodology in

economics.Furthermore, students in second year level can choose 2

subjects out of 8 subjects as their elective courses.

To continue in the Ph.D Program,students must complete a qualifying

exam at the end of the second year.

EC 617 Mathematical Economics

Study of matrices and various determinants such as Jacobian, Hessian, bordered Hessian determinants. Apply static analysis and comparative analysis, concept in input-output model, consumer behavior theory, production theory and IS-LM model. The application of differential equations and difference equations to explain dynamic economic analysis is also provided.

Study of consumer theory, intertemporal choices theory, producer theory, economic market, game theory, general equilibrium model, welfare economics, market Failure, asymmetric information, externality, and public goods

EC 712 Advanced Macroeconomics 4(4-0-8)

Study of macroeconomics theory from various schools of thought, general equilibrium analysis, economic growth models, rational expectations, real business cycle (RBC) theory, dynamic analysis of the Keynesian model and other models, open economy
