Pace can help you lead the charge.Pace University’s MA in Management for Public Safety and Homeland Security Professionals prepares students to meet the challenges of a post-9/11 world, including preventing crime and terrorist attacks, protecting against human and natural hazards, and managing large-scale safety plans for both the public and private sectors.

In fact, Pace University was selected by G.I. Jobs magazine as a Military Friendly School for 2012, an honor awarded to only 15 percent of all colleges, universities, and trade schools nationwide.
We are firmly committed to assisting veterans in pursuing higher education. We provide financial assistance through our Veterans Scholarship, which can
cover half the tuition for full and part-time undergraduate and graduate students. Additionally, admitted veterans are eligible to receive need-based financial aid from Pace as well as benefits offered by the GI Bill. Veteran students may be eligible to receive full coverage of tuition through our Yellow Ribbon Program, and Pace also provides application fee waivers to all veteran applicants.

Professor and Chair of the program, Joseph F. Ryan, PhD, is a national expert on community policing,
a 25-year veteran of the New York City Police Department, and has served as an expert on
police management and on preparedness strategies for all hazards.
The Program The MA in Management for Public Safety and Homeland Security Professionals is a 33-36 credit program with a required master’s project. The program’s blended learning format offers flexibility for working students. Courses are offered on a trimester basis with a required one-day, eight-hour weekend residency for each class at Pace’s Pleasantville Campus. The remainder of the coursework is completed online. The full program can be completed in two years.

*Students choosing to complete a master’s thesis are required to complete only 33 credits. Thesis students will select at least five courses from this grouping plus the Research Colloquium and Capstone Seminar for a minimum of 18 credits. All students will complete a master’s project.
