3

– Joint Master with EDFEDF (Matérial Ageing Institute)* and CEA CEA ** : : 50% of the lectures in the Master are given by engineers from CEA

and EDF

– A direct contact with engineers of the field and future employers : • Part of the lectures on site in EDF-Paris or CEA Cadarache• Visits of research labs

– A common set of lectures (3 monthes) then 2 options • Structures• Fuel

– A serie of general interest lectures on energy issues :

The Materials Ageing Institute is a utility oriented research center founded in January 2008 by Electricité de France(EDF), the Tokyo Electric Power Corporation (TEPCO) and the USElectric Power Research Institute (EPRI). The key purpose of the MAI is to direct efforts in research and developmenttowards ageing of materials used in electrical power facilities. This initiativeby the world’s biggest nuclear operators is motivated by the conviction that sharing research, experimental results, feedback and scientific information will significantly contribute to our understanding of the ageing processes in various materials employed in both nuclear and non-nuclear power plants. The combination of operational know-how, experimental knowledge, and computer modelling of coupled processes can then be used to anticipate ageing and henceforth
