PARISH COAT DRIVE

2013 Our annual Parish Coat Drive took place on November 11. It was once again a wonderful success, thanks to so many of you who contributed coats. The coats were picked up on Mon-day, November 11 by volunteers from “People Sharing”, who are Chicago area residents committed to supporting the needs of under-served communities. We are sure that with our winter weather already here they will be put to good use quite quickly. A special thanks to the following people who came to church on Monday morning to help sort and bag coats. We were finished in 30 minutes thanks to our generous volunteers: Mary Biasi, Bruce Burud, Karen Ciolino, Roxanne Clark, John Dunne, Pam Francisco, Elizabeth Geraghty, George Heim, Ann Kelly, Fred Ludwig, Grace Sabres, Margie Shiel, Barbara Svachula, John Welby The following number of coats (approximately) were collected: 150 - Men's 100 - Women's 40 - Children's 20 - Miscellaneous Thank you for your generosity to help those in need. P.S. Start saving those coats for next year! What’s an old coat to you is a Godsend to many.

CHRISTMAS PROJECT FOR SAINT BENEDICT NURSING CENTER The junior high students have done a Christmas project for many years for resi-dents of a nearby nursing home. This year we are going to do the project for the residents of Saint Benedict Nursing Center in Niles. The seventh and eighth graders will make gift boxes for about 140 residents of the home. These boxes will contain a craft item that the students will make, a pair of socks that they will purchase and other donated items that the residents will enjoy. This is where we are asking for help from the parishioners. If any of you have items that you can donate for these gift boxes, we would be most grateful. Items that would be most useful to us would be: • Any individually wrapped candy • Small stuffed animals (such as Beanie Babies) • Toiletries such as tooth paste, lotions, etc • Decks of playing cards • Individually wrapped packs of cookies or snacks Anything you think the elderly would enjoy receiving in a gift box from the 7th and 8th graders. If you are able to help us, please either send your donation to school with one of our students, drop it off at school or give it to Pam Francisco by Wednesday, De-cember 4. Thank you so much for your continued support. Mrs. Jane Lidgus · Junior High Teacher

Transformation Program!! The sub-groups (Mission, Education, and Finance) have been working to create the actual Action Plan that will be used to carry out the objec-tives we have worked on for the last two months. The Action Plan being created will have concrete goals and set dates in order for the Implementation Team to accomplish the plans of action. If you are interested in getting in-volved with the implementation of the plan, please come to the next three meetings on Tuesdays in the school hall from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Please continue to pray for the suc-cess of our Parish Transformation Program.
