With the celebra on of the feast of the bap sm of the Lord on January 13, we will enter in to the Ordinary me of the year. It will con nue through Tuesday, March 5, the day before Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lenten season. It will resume when the Easter season ends, that is Monday, 10 June, the day following Pentecost. Now, I would like you all to say ‘thanks be to God’ for the gi of Christmas season. It was indeed a me of blessing of peace, joy and happiness for all of us. Besides these blessings, perhaps we have experienced some dark moments and difficult mes, too. Such experiences do keep us clos-er to the Lord.

As I wrote in my Christmas le er, this year, I would also like to work on the beau ful gi of JOY (Jesus first, others next and yourself last). I wish to infuse it in to all Parish ministries by giving first place to Jesus. Every ministry wheth-er it is liturgical or PSR or parish mee ngs or school ministry or other common services done for the good of the Parish must reflect on Jesus centered ap-proach and his way of working toward the realiza on of God’s kingdom. We will talk about in our next pastoral council and bring out some concrete ac on plan. Meanwhile, you are requested to give your thoughts on it.

I would also like to reiterate the spirit of voluntary service in all ministries as this has been the pa ern of church’s func oning right from the beginning. As I said before, we are blessed to have a bunch of volunteers doing different min-istries and services in the Parish which really keeps the parish going. Now I am in greater need of a volunteer who would coordinate the PSR program. It is to keep regular communica on with the parents & teachers, interact with them, and provide necessary assistance to the teachers and thus keep the program going smoothly under the guidance of the Pastor. We are working on a list of responsibili es to help the new coordinator to run the program comfortably well.

Resigna on: For some personal reasons, Carmen Burton resigned from being the PSR Coordinator with the effect from December 21, 2018. On behalf of the Parish, I extend her my apprecia on and thanks for her many years of com-mendable service to Religious Educa on and then later on to PSR program in par cular. I wish her well in her endeavors.

Many thanks: I thank the Knights for doing the liturgical ministries at both the Masses on the last weekend of December. The singing brought forth by the newly formed Knight’s choir at Saturday weekend Mass was quite outstanding. I do appreciate and welcome such wonderful ini a ve. I also thank the Knights for organizing Roses for Life under the leadership of Joe Bax. It is a commenda-ble service toward promo on of human life and also it does create awareness among the younger genera on.

back in the church within the scheduled me. I do appreciate your though ul dona ons that you turn in at every weekend and I do look forward to receiving more dona ons chiefly from those who have not s ll turned in their mint. Jerry Harms has been working on the sale of 6 acres of parish land through a Real Estate for which the necessary paper work is being processed through the diocesan A orney and Diocesan Office and it has become unexpectedly lengthy. I appreciate his persistent efforts in the whole process.

Na onal Rosary for healing and protec on: The US bishops have decided to re-cite rosary at na onal level on January 17 at 1 pm for healing and protec on for those affected by sexual abuse. It will be livestreamed on the diocesan Facebook page. The bulle n insert will give you the details. However, I would like that those who do not have internet facility come to our chapel to do the rosary on the same day at the same me. For this, I need some volunteers to lead the rosary.
