Parish Mission of Renewal “Christ Be Our Light”

At St. Patrick, 6N491 Crane Road, St. Charles

March 26th through March 30th, Starting at 6:30 p.m.

We have a wonderful spiritual experience planned for our parish during the last week of March.

Fr. Pete Schavitz, a Redemptorist priest from St. Louis, will be here leading our Parish Mission. Fr. Pete is a dynamic speaker who has been leading

parish renewal experiences for almost 25 years.

Father grew up in Chicago, professed as a Redemptorist in 1970 and was ordained to the priesthood in 1976. He has wide and varied Apostolic experiences: Youth, adult, couples, divorced, nuns’

retreats, seminary professor, vocation and parish ministry, provincial administration, and involvement in several radio and video projects. Fr. Pete is a seasoned Parish Mission preacher

whose faith, stories, humor and words continue to spiritually impact thousands.

In addition to speaking at all of the Masses on the weekend of March 25 & 26, Fr. Pete will lead a service each evening, Sunday through Thursday, beginning at 6:30 p.m. and lasting about

an hour and fifteen minutes. Following the service, there will be refreshments for all participants. You can attend any night that fits your schedule. There is a theme planned for each evening:

SCHEDULE FOR THE STATIONS OF THE CROSS AT CRANE ROAD

The Stations of the Cross are a traditional Lenten prayer form that helps us to walk with Christ and grow in our union with him.

Plan on about a 45 minute prayer service in the church. Families and children are encouraged to participate.

Starting in the Church at 7:00 p.m. on Fridays, March 31 and April 7

AT THE CRANE ROAD CHURCH ONLY

Every Tuesday beginning after the 7:00 a.m. Mass

until 9:00 p.m. Benediction at 8:45 p.m. Downtown Resumes on Wednesday, April 12th

Low-Gluten Hosts Are Available

Persons with Celiac disease are unable to consume communion hosts used at Mass because of an intolerance to gluten. A host has been developed and was given Vatican approval. Most people with celiac disease are able to consume these hosts. When receiving the low-gluten host, we ask that you receive from the priest; he will have a special pyx in his ciborium which will contain the special hosts. When you come up to the priest, simply say “special host,” and he will provide that for you.

If you or someone you know is homebound and has celiac disease or gluten intolerance issues and they would like to receive communion at home, call Judy or Jenny in the Parish Office at 630-338-8000.

The latest in RCIA news. . .

My name is Doris Birkenmeyer. I have two wonderful sons, Jason and Nicholas. My son, Jason, is married to Jillian and my son, Nicholas, is engaged to Jessica. I have been blessed to have them and my family in my life. For many years, I’ve felt like the Lord was calling me but I always felt that I

was strong enough and could handle anything. I was wrong. While living with my sister for the past five years, I’ve come to know just how much I need God in my life. I look forward to becoming part of the Church.

My name is Sarah Gable. I came to the RCIA program because I felt the Holy Spirit leading me here. I also wanted to know more about the rich history and traditions of the Catholic Church.

My name is Colin Eggers. I entered the RCIA program for two reasons. I felt that I was missing out when friends would talk about church or bible stories. I also joined because my fiancé was raised Catholic. I want to get married before God and raise my children to understand how

amazing God is. The entire experience is indescribable. I can only tell everyone to do it! It’s something you will love and enjoy.

My name is Scott Webb. I was brought to RCIA by my wife and our 7 year old daughter. As I attended Mass with my wife and helped my daughter in her religious education at St Patrick’s school, I felt drawn by the calling of God

to learn more and join the Catholic faith.

Pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy at 3:00 p.m. Tuesdays at the Crane Road Church

Our Lord promised extraordinary graces to those who recite this special prayer. The chaplet is prayed on rosary beads.

It is appropriate to pray the Chaplet during the “Hour of Great Mercy” at 3:00 each afternoon.

This recalls the time of Christ’s death on the cross.

I am a sophomore at Rosary High School. I enjoy spending time with

family and friends, and spreading the message of the good news with Peer Ministry. At my school, I am involved in

an Art Club, a Community Service Club, a Pro-Life Club, and I am on the Cross Country and Track varsity teams. One of my favorite scripture

verses is Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." I love this passage because it reminds me when

I am going through tough times or am feeling overwhelmed, that God is always with me

and He will help me get through it.

The Holy Rosary Rooted in Sacred Scripture, the Rosary has been called the Gospel in miniature. Beautiful music is blended with subtle voices as the symphony of prayers of this timeless treasure is presented by Matthew Arnold so that all

can participate. The recitation of this traditional Catholic prayer honoring the Blessed Virgin Mary is perfect for personal use in private meditation or for family devotions.
