Revised Liturgical Schedule for July & August (Effective July 1, 2020)
Weekend Mass Schedule: Saturday Vigil: 5:00 p.m. (with music)
Sunday Masses: 8:00 a.m. (no music) 9:15 a.m. (with music)
**10:30 a.m. (with music)

**Reservations through the Office are still required for the 10:30 a.m. Sunday Mass
Daily Mass Change Beginning in July we will have a permanent change in our daily Mass Schedule. Daily Masses will be celebrated on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday at 8:30 a.m. each week. There will be no daily Mass celebrated on Thursdays. There will also be no Communion Services scheduled on those days when daily Mass is not celebrated at the Church.
Sunday Masses We will continue to have an additional Mass on Sundays to relieve some of the pressure from the 10:30 a.m. Sunday Mass. We can only accommodate comfortably and safely about 150 people maximum for a Sunday Mass. If you were in the habit of attending the 10:30 a.m. Mass before the pandemic, please consider coming to the 9:15 a.m. Mass. (No reservations are needed for that Mass. Reservations are currently required for the 10:30 a.m. Mass.)
Catholic Lagoon Day Knight of Columbus Council 602 has cancel Catholic Lagoon Day due to Covid-19 for 2020. They look forward to seeing you July 18, 2021.
News and Upcoming Events
Daily Rosary The rosary will continue to be prayed daily at 8:00 a.m. before each daily Mass. On the days when Mass is not celebrated, the Church will not be open early for this devotion.
Devotional Chapel
The Eucharistic Devotional Chapel is now open. Please follow the Covid-19 guidelines and limit your visit to no more than one hour and no more than four people in the Chapel at any one time.
Family Visit Father Bill will be visiting his family the week of July 6 to July 10. There will be no daily Masses or Communion Services celebrated at Holy Family that week. We encourage those who are in the practice of attending daily Mass to go to another Parish.
Knights of Columbus Golf Tournament
This year’s Knights Golf Tournament will be held at Wolf Creek Golf Course August 16, 2020. Cost per person is a $75 entry fee that includes green fee, cart, luncheon and prizes. Make check payable to the Knights of Columbus. Shotgun starts at 8:00 a.m. Everyone will play in their own foursome. A blind draw will be used to select the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. To enter contact Mike McDonough at 801-479-6124, Mike McMahon at 801-809-8480 or Mike Dannenmueller at 801-390-3574. Mailing address for entries is 4918 Burch Creek Hallow, Ogden UT 84403. Please send in your checks asap as there is no check in at the golf course.
2019 DDD Unfortunately, Holy Family Church did not make the $85,000 quota for last year’s Bishop’s Appeal—the Diocesan Development Drive. Because of the shortfall of $3,839, the Parish must take that money out of our operating budget and pay it to the Diocese. This additional financial burden on our Parish means that some projects and repairs will have to be postponed this year to pay off this shortfall. If you have not contributed to this year’s DDD, and you are in a financial position to do so, please pick up the information in the back of the Church and support not only your Diocese but your Parish. We are
currently short almost $44,000 of making this year’s quota.
Religious Education 2020-2021
Holy Family will be offering religious education classes for the coming school year. The classes will begin on September 20. Classes will be limited to 10 students maximum in each grade to maintain social distancing. There will be no kindergarten class next year. Classes will be offered to grades 1st through high school. First Communion classes will be offered. If your child attends St. Joseph Elementary School, he/she will not have to be enrolled in the Holy Family First Communion Program this year so we can reduce our numbers. Confirmation will also be offered for any student in eighth grade or high school. For information, please call Carl Leuschner, our DRE, for information and to register. Once a class reaches 10 students, no additional students will be added.
Liturgical Ministry Scheduling Sue Durbano will begin scheduling lectors for the July and August Masses. If you are a new lector, please make sure Sue has you on our lector list. Also, since we will be scheduling lectors for the added 9:15 Mass, she will need to know your Mass preference before making up the schedule. The ushers will resume their ministry in July. We will wait on scheduling Eucharistic Ministers and Altar Servers until some of the Covid-19 restrictions are relaxed.
Singing at Mass Other than singing the Mass parts and psalm, we will continue to only have instrumental music for our gathering song, Communion processional and recessional. Since singing, like loud talking or shouting, can contribute to the spread of Covid-19 in confined places, we will limit our singing at Mass until it becomes safer for everyone.
Happy Anniversary, Fr. Bill This Saturday, June 27, will be Father Bill’s 28th Anniversary of Ordination to the Priesthood. Father Bill was ordained with two other transitional deacons to the priesthood at St. Ambrose Church in Salt Lake City because the Cathedral of the Madeleine was closed for restoration. Please pray for Father Bill and pray that many young men will respond to God’s call to priestly ministry.
