Gift Bearers: Terry & Nancy Boone family│Familia de Terry y Nancy Boone Nancy’s Great-Great-Grandfather (Ben H. Welp) donated 2 acres of land west of the future town of Haverhill, for the first Catholic church and cemetery. Her Great-Grandfather (Christian Neuroth) and Grandfather (Frank Neuroth), were instrumental in raising money, planning, and hauling materials from the quarry at Le Grand and shipments from the railroad to build the new Immaculate Conception Church in Haverhill. A large stained glass window commemorating the Frank Neuroth family is in the

southwest corner of St. Mary Church. Nancy’s father (Cletus Neuroth), helped to raise funds for Mercy Hospital, the new Southside parish of St. Henry, and Lenihan Catholic High School.

El tatarabuelo de Nancy (Ben H. Welp) donó 2 acres de tierra al oeste de la futura ciudad de Haverhill, para la primera iglesia católica y el cementerio. Jesus & Maria Gomez family │Familia de Jesús y María Gómez Both born in Jalisco, Mexico, Jesus and Maria have lived in the USA for 40 years (the last 22 in Marshalltown). Jesus worked for 15 years at JBS, Maria worked there 8 years. One of their saddest memories was living through immigration raid that took place there. Maria worked as an assistant teacher for MICA for 6 years and later opened her own business “Maria’s Tacos.” Their 3 children, 11 grandchildren, and great grandchild all call Marshalltown home. From childhood to today, Jesus and Maria have been active in their faith in many ways (such as a lector, catechist, and the group Semillas). They are currently retired, but Maria has begun to bring communion to the elderly and homebound.

Ambos nacidos en Jalisco, México, Jesús y María han vivido en los Estados Unidos durante 40 años (los últimos 22 en Marshalltown). Jesús trabajó durante 15 años en JBS, María trabajó allí 8 años. Uno de sus recuerdos más tristes fue la redada de inmigración que ocurrió allí. María trabajaba como asistente de maestra para MICA durante 6 años y más tarde abrió su propio negocio, "María's Tacos". Sus 3 hijos, 11 nietos y un bisnieto también viven en Marshalltown. Desde la infancia hasta hoy, han sido activos en su fe de muchas maneras (como lector, catequista y participante del grupo Semillas). Actualmente están jubilados, pero María ha comenzado a llevar la comunión a personas mayores y confinadas en sus hogares.
