Young Voices Needed!

Our Children's Choir has officially

resumed singing at the 9am Mass!

All boys and girls in grades 3-8 are

invited to join us in glorifying God, learning about

music and our Catholic Faith, and enriching the Mass

through sacred music! Weekly rehearsals will be on

Monday nights at 6:15pm, and we sing each Sunday at

the 9 am Mass. Interested? Contact choir director

Jolene Nelson at [email protected] for more

information.

WHY SHOULD I ENROLL MY CHILD IN THE

CHILDREN'S CHOIR?

REASON #4:

Learn Some Latin! Choir members not only learn how to sing in English, but also in Latin and other languages as well. Latin is the building block of so many modern languages; and, at a time when people from different parts of the world interact and come together more frequently, it is important that young Catholics have a basic understanding of Latin. The study of Latin has also been shown to be successful in increasing test scores, expanding vocabulary, and helping young people understand grammatical structures in other languages.

Dear Parish Family,

We want to thank you for your generosity with your 2nd

envelope for Religious Education. Your kindness enables

us to have a much more hands on program which helps our

young people enjoy their time with us and bring what they

learn back to their homes.

God bless, Sherry and Chris

Become the woman of grace God created you to be! The Women of Grace Foundational Study, Full of Grace: Women and the Abundant Life, is a dynamic program for Catholic women, encouraging study participants to come to a fuller understanding of their dignity and vocation as

daughters of God.

Below are just a couple of the CD titles available in our Lighthouse Media Collection:

Why Go to Mass: The Blood of the New Covenant If you ever feel bored at Mass or think that you don't get much out of it, this talk is for you. Most Reverend Alexander K. Sample, Archbishop of Portland, provides theological and practical reasons why we need to come to a deeper understanding of the nature of the Mass. By understanding the Mass as a sacrifice and a sacred banquet, we can tap into the transforming power offered whenever we worship.

The Incredible Mind of G.K. Chesterton Dale Ahlquist, founder of the American Chesterton Society, masterfully presents the genius of Catholic convert and 20th century literary giant G.K. Chesterton. He shares how this “King of Satire” predicted many of the societal ills of our day and pointed out the remedies for them. Discover the wisdom of this literary critic, playwright, novelist, Catholic theologian, and apologist. We kindly ask for a donation of $4.00 per book (or otherwise specified suggested donation), $3.00 per CD, $2.00 per booklet and $0.50 per pamphlet so that we may continue this program. Please make all checks out to “OLMM.” Won’t you reach out and help bring someone home?

Highlighting Our Advertisers Did you know that Coastal Heating/Cooling Specialists advertises on the back pages of our bulletin? Any business you give them benefits our parish in the publication of our bulletin. We thank all of our advertisers.

The Hampton Knights of Columbus have sponsored the National Life Chain here at Our Lady of Miraculous Medal

Parish for the last few years. The date for this year’s national event conflicts with the 40 Days for Life Greenland United

bus tour. Recognizing the urgency for ending America’s abortion crisis, 40 Days for Life is bringing its unprecedented

40-day nationwide bus tour to the public right of way outside of Lovering Health Center at 559 Portsmouth Avenue,

Greenland, NH, on Sunday October 2nd from 2:00 - 2:30 PM.

As an alternative to hosting the National Life Chain event here at OLMM, the Knights of Columbus, along with family and friends,

will gather in the OLMM parking lot at 1:15 PM on Sunday, October 2nd in order to car pool to the 40 Days for Life event in

Greenland. We thank all parishioners who have supported the Life Chain in the past and we invite ALL parishioners to join us in

this worthy event. The Greenland tour stop will share a pro-life message of hope with Christians who are united in prayer and

fasting during this 40 Days for Life campaign, running from Sept 28th to Nov. 6th.

donate $10 from each session to the OLMM Outreach

On behalf of the Knights of Columbus, Bishop Brady Coun-

sel #5093, I would like to say Thank You to all of the won-

derful volunteers who came out to help at Seafood Festival

2016. I am so grateful to each and every one of you who so

generously gave your time on a beautiful weekend when there

were many, many other things you could have been doing.

You braved the elements; the hot sun, the 90 degree heat on

Saturday, the brief but heavy rain on Sunday, the crowds, the

busses, the massive crowds and everything else that was pre-

sented you with the joy and cheerful outlook that comes from

knowing you were in service to others. By giving of your

time you have donated to groups throughout the seacoast that

help others; from local scout troops, students groups, veterans

and elder groups as well as organizations that serve the less

fortunate in our seacoast communities. Your actions are a

blessing. I am overwhelmed by support and assistance we

have received, and I am truly grateful to who participated in

Seafood Festival 2016!

Thank you!

Jim McAden, Knights of Columbus #5093
